Hi Mark, I hope you are well and movement is getting easier. I have to agree with you I love the Wedding pens but the Spiral Spectraply does look spectacular in my opinion. I have only made 2 of these and it broke my heart when someone bought the first one. I might make another one, for me and video the complete process but is is very similar to other spiral pens I have shown so still undecided whether to video or not. The registrar that conducted the wedding came up to ma afterwards and said she has one of my pens which her mother bought from me at one of my craft fairs. It was quite a surreal moment. Hi T H D, Thanks very much my friend. Segmented pens are a joy to make. The secret is planning the design, a sharp bandsaw blade set up properly and an accurate sled for the angles. @@WoodenItBeNice I have another question, I have a mini lathe, and it only has 3 speeds and is belt driven, I have it set on the middle setting, I feel that if I get it spinning faster I will get less chips when turning acrylic. I am using carbite tools. Any suggestions?

@@TheHomeDad Hello mate, My first lathe was a little Jet with and 8" bowl capacity and was belt driven as well. I now always turn at 2500 rpm for acrylic and resin so as close as you can get to that on your fastest speed. I also take very light cuts all the way through the turning process. I have had blanks chip out on me right at the last minute. I also use carbides for my pens. Hope this helps. Huw
