Hello to J and all his peeps! "Clearwater Will" here, back to see how our boy J is doing! I have to tell you, he's doing as well as any of us bank/wade/bridge anglers. J, when watching this video, I noticed that you are releasing or giving away your pinfish. Please keep in ming that I have caught some giant snook and redfish off of pinfish! Bull reds really love them! And in a spot like that, you can get away with light tackle! The water temp. is just getting really hard to fish in. Live bait is getting harder to keep alive, even in my recirculating live bait well, it's tough. I've made two late night trips to the south Skyway in the past week and didn't see a single good catch either time! I even have a really bright green light that I lower into the water to attract bait. The first night, right after the greenbacks showed up, about a dozen tarpon showed up and ran off the greenbacks before we could catch more than a few. Three of the tarpon were true giants, and they all stayed around all night. We were playing cat and mouse with them, doing figure 8 patterns in the light with our various NLBN baits. We'd let them kiss the baits before pulling them out. Finally, one of the giants was getting pissed and got a bit too close! After my bait cleared the water, he followed it and grabbed the NLBN's tail, and tore it off! The rest of the bait (jighead) shot up and just missed hitting me in the head! If it had, I would have deserved it! I took that as my sign to knock it off! It's just not worth it to hook tarpon unless there is a way to land them properly. The second night was this past Friday night/Saturday morning. I have never seen so much bait around my light, ever! The tarpon never showed up, and neither did anything else! It was a HUGE incoming moon tide. The moon tide is probably why the tarpon didn't show up as they tend to spawn offshore during these tides. And the incoming has never been my favorite tide to fish anyway. So betweem that and the water temp, I wasn't too surprised. J, you need to keep your spot there a secret and don't overfish it! We lose more and more spots where shore anglers can fish every year! It's all because of money. You wouldn't believe the changes I've seen happen to Pinellas County since the late 70's! My grandfathers, grandmother was born in Clearwater! Imagine what they saw and the stories my grandfather told me! It really is heartbreaking what money and snowbirds turned my home into! I definitely know how native americans felt! 😢

As always Will it’s a pleasure to read your comments since you have some great information to share!! Sounds like you’ve been putting those NLBNs to work! I’ve heard the same thing from so many shore anglers and you’re correct it sucks!! I’ve even had my fair share of encounters with charters coming to shore spots that weren’t happy we were fishing “their” spot haha however im still only about a year and a half into fishing so I’m sure I’m find another handful of great spots eventually, no rush!! I just enjoy the thrill of being out there enjoying the nature we’re blessed to have and also the mystery of what is gonna bite my lure/bait!! Once again I appreciate all the information you share with me and my viewers!!! Best of luck out there on the water! And TIGHT LINES!! 😁🎣

hey i like all your videos but i think you going to need a small boat like inflatable mariner 4 with small outboard and you can explore more and catch more mangrove snapper rigth there by tampa bay,i have one before in the keys before i got a real boat and it was fun

Hey! I appreciate the support and you’re absolutely correct I’m gonna need some sort of water craft to explore waters I can’t from land! I’m starting to finally feel experienced enough with fishing so I’m likely going to have to look into that soon! I appreciate the comment and tight lines!! 😁🎣
