Hello my friend, it’s Sargent Jim from Nashville Tennessee, Retired disabled Veteran, 7 years, I was raised in Gulf shores Aoand Pensacola Florida, part of my life, mid 60’s till 1974, shrimped on boats all over Florida and Alabama and fished a lot of spots you fish 🐠 great video as always, brings back great memories, I come to the beach 🏖️ a couple of times per year, can’t wait to saltwater fish, thanks for all you do , Jim 🪖🇺🇸🐠🐠🐠

I want to thank you for the KZbin show. I really enjoy watching, but I learn so much as well. I'm from North Alabama, and I learned to peir fish, and I developed a love for saltwater fishing. I purchased a center console boat, but I didn't know anything about what I can keep (as far as rules, regulations and sizes). I plan to buy tackle from your site as well. Thank you for what you do!
@bugs8252 жыл бұрын
I'm in Florida and have spent many nights fishing pilings with live bait. Here, the cast is everything. If the bait is 3 feet out, you get nothing. We have found that getting your bait right next to the structure when it hits the bottom is the difference between massive snapper or getting catfish. Yes, you lose more tackle and fish, but it is why others fishing our spots get nothing.

Also a florida fisherman, and I totally agree. The snapper don’t leave the structure because of dolphins

Good video. Showing how to fish live bait. What I liked about you video, was taking a minute to show the setup. So important because there’s many different ways and variations. I’m very experienced angler. Millions of fishing video’s out there, but many don’t take a few minutes to clearly show anglers how to rig. I also liked how you properly released a valuable redfish, when you tossed it in head first, it gives the fish a better start and they usually take off at high speed.
@TexCen2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate you showing your rigs/setup. I haven't fished since I was a kid, and even then it was on a farm pond, so I'm learnin' all over again. There's a TON of info out there, so it's nice to see what works. I live in TX so the coastal waters here are very similar in color, depth & species. Great vid, much appreciated.

How are you liking the new boat? I have a 19 foot Maycraft and last summer started taking it out in the Atlantic to fish some of the reefs and wrecks for summer flounder out of Tuckerton NJ. I have to say I would probably have not gone into the ocean if I didn’t see you taking the Scout out in the gulf! So thank you for that! I just got my boat in the water 2 weeks ago so tomorrow morning I will be out trying for some striped bass. I wish we had the variety of fish y’all do down there to target here! Would it be wiser in your opinion to use the swivel and tie your fluorocarbon/monofilament, or tie braid to fluoro/mono directly using an Alberto knot, etc…? What kind of knot do you prefer to tie when tying your hooks / line to swivel ?
@BamaSaltwater2 жыл бұрын
For these fish finder rigs with bait, use a swivel. It'll prevent line twist for the most part. I like a Palomar or Uni Knot
