@14gguzman9 жыл бұрын
+djcprod Yeah now that I think about it sure rubs me the wrong way I mean Netflix you get to pick and there is almost an unlimited amount of content there is countless of options added every new day... screen junkies 1 new episode every day and the content that doesn't make it to You Tube so just scraps... I have Netflix had it for a while now and can't even remember the last time I got on it... Screen Junkies I am sorry but it's not worth it
@Wasabifold9 жыл бұрын
+SpamIsSpamTo SpamBySpammers (CHA05) Netflix can offer 8 dollars a month because they don't produce or at least didn't produce most of their content when they first started. They were able to build a world wide subscription base by offering access to tonnes of HQ movies and TV shows at one low price. They created the idea of binge watching through subscription instead of having to buy full seasons in DVD collections. The draw of big budget hollywood movies that you didn't have to rent individually got them loyal customers. And now with all that money they make from their subscriptions they are moving into producing their own original content on their platform with their TV shows and movies. Screen Junkies do not have that subscription base and they are trying to start their own service from scratch with ALL original content. Not only is five dollars understandable, it's pretty cheap all things considered.
@14gguzman9 жыл бұрын
Wasabifold I couldn't agree more I am giving it a shot I am not very excited but will of course support them by giving them a chance... Also you are making Netflix sound so perfect I wonder why I stop watching it... Guess we'll find out if this will succeed...

@Wasabifold9 жыл бұрын
SpamIsSpamTo SpamBySpammers I never said the movies they offered were good. I've heard that Netflix has pretty B list movies and doesn't get A list movies for a while which makes sense. Studios aren't going to hand over the rights to their movies to Netflix until they think they have squeezed out the most they can out of it with DVD sales. Probably one of the main reasons Netflix has made this voyeur into original content, to gain more subscribers. Netflix Original Content is frankly fantastic. There is no denying. Original shows like Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Marvel's Daredvil etc etc and the newly released Netflix original movie Beast of No Nation which some people say could be an oscar contender, is turning heads. I think it's because they don't focus on serialization because it all drops at once, they make the movies and TV shows phenomenal from the start.

David Mendez A very small bunch. Currently you have Ghostbusters, Ocean's 11, Roadhouse remakes planned. There is talks going around for a female James Bond. Can't they leave theses franchises alone? How difficult will it be to come up with an idea for a female spy, do you have to call it "Jane Bond"? One can even argue that Bridesmaid was loosely based on The Hangover.

Generally when a company is thinking of expanding, they don't open 200 stores country wide on the same day. Whenever movie fights shows NIck Mundy on the panel, the credibility goes down 95%. I might be in the minority, I actually ENJOY 3 good competitors, taken seriously by the panel. Nothing wrong with jokes and banter, but I still like credible arguments. Nick Literally proposing ideas he came up with 10 minutes ago (I hope) and he just rambles......like Andy said, it's mostly just noise, and annoying noise at that. I probably care too much, but literally it's my Monday morning work routine. I get to work and listen to movie fights, I see Nick Mundy and sigh...........sorry for being so negative, just a thought.
@stokenasty9 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of people would agree with you. I wonder, once they get the new service rolling, if Mundy's show will hold up in the ratings against the other shows? I highly doubt it. If it doesn't, will they do the right thing and pull it from their lineup? I would hope so. This new service will give them the ability to look more into their talent they have at SJ and evaluate them.

+Earnest Evans Naw I agree with you man. I don't enjoy it because he doesn't let other people speak during the entire thing. All you can hear is his voice.
@konstance139 жыл бұрын
+Earnest Evans I agree. It seems it his main goal is always to be funny or outrageous, but not really to make a serious argument. One of my favorite movie fights was the one with Elijah Wood. But it was also kind of awkward because I feel even Elijah slowly realized how silly Nick was acting and pretty much stopped acknowledging him...except for a few courtesy laughs. :/ And you could tell on this one Andy was getting genuinely annoyed with him.
@lstcloud9 жыл бұрын
+Earnest Evans I don't normally watch +Screen Junkies (or it just seems to blend in with other movie p/review shows that I've seen before), but it doesn't take an expert to figure out that something here is not right. A serious question was asked: "What video game could be adapted to a movie that would have the effect of legitimizing video game movies?" The Rock's fanboy there said that he doesn't really play video games except for Madden and he buys the new Halo every 3 or 4 years and plays that pretty regular. So essentially what they're asking him is: "Out of the ONE video game that you DO play, what's the best video game to turn into a movie?" I stopped watching right there. Now, I'm not saying that these guys needed to have played every video game in existence before answering, but if you ask Helen Keller what he favorite color is, don't be surprised when she tells you "black".
@soulwarrior9 жыл бұрын
+Earnest Evans I love Nick Mundy in the fights. He says silly things half the time, yes, but for me, that's making it simply all the more entertaining. I don't enjoy the "super serious" episodes, I really like the mix of serious and funny guys.

+TheBigYC The major demographic for a video game movie is...gamers..come on ha. Marketing will be set up to reel in non gamers later. But Bioshock is very very well known by gamers. It's an extremely popular franchise. I would have gone with Halo to be honest, but the arguments against Bioshock were stupid and I don't think Hal, Nick or Andy had ever played it. If they had, they would have known what they were saying against it was bullshit.
@steveharvey63419 жыл бұрын
+SandBox H3ro (SandBoxH3ro) the question was what would legitimize game movies, and that will come Thru making a critically acclaimed movie not thru money. My proof look at tomb raider made a great amount of money but sucked shit, so video games are still not legitimized.

+Screen Junkies no need to thank me, thank yourselves. The way I see it is this: I spend 7-8 dollars a month on Netflix, something I only really use once a month. I watch Movie Fights every Sunday when I get home from work at night as well as most other videos that are put out via the Screen Junkies account. I am also a huge Chris Stuckmann fan along with everyone else on the list that you gave. $5 a month to a service that I know I will use often as well as enjoy, that's honestly a very fair deal considering how many people are going to be putting time and effort into this. To everyone else reading this, if you break it down, $5 a month isn't even enough for a single subscriber to pay everyone working hard on this project a dollar each. Everyone is so caught up being worried about giving these hard workers $5 a month, yet I'm sure more than half of them went out to see movies like Transformers 4 and the new Paranormal Activity. It's funny how they would gladly spend $10 (or more) to see a horrible movie yet complain about a passion project for half of that cost. As Mundy said, it's two beers a month. Let's see how everything works out during the free trial, which, again, is 3 months. And, to everyone reading, let's be honest here: 3 months is very generous already.

@mickyblue0119 жыл бұрын
And then Mundy goes and let's off another idiotic statement. Never heard of it? Play it. It's brilliant, a true masterpiece of modern gaming.
@atro-city9 жыл бұрын
I heard about it a long time ago but never bothered to play it, played a bit of the beginning of Bioshock infinite last year and decided I would start playing from the first game, but never got to it, until now. I am playing it these days and I think it's great. When Hal said that Spencer got too "intellectual" with the Citizen Kane argument, I thought he was talking from the perspective of a frog who has spent all his life inside a well and only thinks of video games to be fun and not art, like - 'yours does not sound like Fast and Furious and sounds more like Drive, so it sucks'. Anyone who hasn't heard of Bioshock should be open to the idea of a movie adaptation of such kind. It was ignorant of him to discard Spencer's argument in that way. It's just like saying - "I know 2001 is flawless but I got bored so I give this movie a 2/10 rating". You got bored because YOU GOT BORED, it wasn't the filmmaker's fault, he made the movie he wanted to make !! Okay, I'll shut up.
@shahriarsyed43949 жыл бұрын
+Kristen ingram I've played it numerous times and i really don't want it to be a movie. i do however want it to be a badass TV show. Something like GoT but less drama, more horror and more action. Because It's got such a great world and such a great story that a two hour movie seems a too short to get all of it in there. You can argue that you can split the game into two or three movies and that's a little like what the hobbit did by stretching the material too long. I say a TV show is the best thing for the game. AND for that reason alone... i think Halo would be a better choice for a movie.
@mickyblue0119 жыл бұрын
+Kamran Nasir you make a lot of good points there. Hal has been guilty of being ignorant many times in the past, this was just another notch. The "I don't like it therefore it's bad" argument is one only used by the truly stupid members of today's society.

Neo never left the Matrix. You never see the real world in any of the movies. I think the problem with the sequels is more that the original movie made a lot of sense in a well paced movie running time and they didn't. The Matrix begins and ends, gives you questions and then answers those questions, and what it shows you is believable. The second movie ends as a set up for the third movie and leaves questions hanging. The third movie poorly answers those questions and begins to become confusing. Rules were set up in the prior movies and then broken in the third without real explanation. How did Agent Smith inhabit a real world body? They're still in the matrix. How does Neo see when blind and affect machines? They're still in the matrix. How do all those ravers build and maintain hover crafts with questionable physics and fuel sources? They're still in the matrix. Why don't the machines place solar energy collectors in orbit? Because the real world is probably fine, every 'real world' we see in the movies is not the real world.
@ZachBobBob9 жыл бұрын
+Yodie Yuh This is my theory too. The main thing that tears the trilogy apart is when neo can see's code when he's blind and stops that sentinel in the 'real world'. And then none of that is ever explained. It winds me up, it must be like inception and there's a matrix inside a matrix or something.
@ovkom9 жыл бұрын
+Yodie When I was a kid, Revolution made me think really hard about those questions but i was completely mentally blocked from the idea (which is actually super obvious) that it was all still matrix. Then I became a software developer, and learned to construct pretty complex, layered models, including Virtualization (which is basically like matrix). I actually have a virtual box running other virtual box inside. It blows my mind that only after your comment Matrix finally makes complete sense for me. Holy shit I'm stupid.
@ZachBobBob9 жыл бұрын
Had anyone ever considered that maybe neo could like wirelessly tap into the matrix as well and that's how he did the things he did in revolutions? Sorta like Wi-Fi instead of a wired connection? Instead of being physically plugged into the matrix he found another way and they all really are in the real world. That's my only other explanation :P

As much flack Andy gets he's the business leader of this group and he's bringing this to a rightful place. Live on and prosper Screen Junkies!

Stop with this ''The Rock is amazing'' ''No one can take out The Rock'' bullshit. I'm getting so tired of watching you guys lick butts :s Channing Tatum is a great choice. He has been proving again and again that he can do it.

@Gyork_9 жыл бұрын
+Rei Bob I like the Rock but yeah it's getting kind of annoying, also Nick Mundy reminded me of Homer when he betrayed Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger confidentiality. when he talked about what the Rock told him about Shazam. I hope it doesn't end the same way for him as well

+Jakob Öhrnell If you think about it a lot of the choices in Mass Effect don't have huge impacts on the overall story. Shepard pretty much still goes on the same missions no matter what he/she does or who dies along the way.

Who is going to pay $5 for a web series and 12 shows, when xbox live and netflix are comparably priced, those titans cost as much as screen junkies plus? Which is really just popcorn talk network under a new name. really? this is the big deal? I stupidly assumed you could get a real show going on Comedy central or something worth all this mystery.

I really enjoy Screen Junkies content and I would not mind paying for more stuff. However, I am already subscribed to so many things online, including Netflix. It all adds up. I'll thing about it guys. I know you're working hard.

+Aspiring As do I. Twitch accounts, netflix, crunchyrole, PSN network, etc. Now with youtube red and SJ too I feel we're getting close to being subscription fatigued.
