Holy shit! Only up to Round 2, and this is unbearable! Why do you book people like that? Don't you expect this? No, I do. And last time they went at it was as unentertaining to watch as this time. This kind of show appeals to you? Please refer to my original comment. Watched it through to the end out of loyalty to Movie Fights and all the good things they do, but it was excruciating. I don't mind the passion if there is some wit, but Mantz is snarky and his arguments consists of using superlatives, explaining the plot of the movie, or jumping in with a year or a quote. Jesus Christ, poor Jeremy got screwed over again by being caught in the middle of the two loudest and argumentative people they could find. Just like last time he was on, he could barely get a word in over two screaming idiots. I really enjoy movie fights when people like Jeremy and Alicia Malone are on, as they are quiet, present their thoughts clearly and articulately and don't yell over the top of people. But Mundy, Mantz and Rocha and to a lesser extent Dan Murrell and Hal Rudnick are so irritating to watch, they just scream over each other and they eventually boil down to childish insults and name calling.

The original Ghostbusters was a very clever mesh of horror and deadpan humor. There were a lot of legitimately creepy and scary moments and humor that came from deadpan funny lines This one appears to drop the ball on those core aspects. A female cast could have been a fantastic thing, but they ruined it with neon not-at-all-scary ghosts and cheap slapstick comedy that in no way fits into the style of ghostbusters. My personal rule of thumb when it comes to sequels/reboots is that it can have a different cast, location, villain, etc., but it HAS TO HAVE the same tone and style. One major reason (perhaps the biggest reason) the Star Wars Prequels failed is because they went completely off the rails from the "space western adventure" tone that existed in the original trilogy. The Force Awakens returned to that tone and style, and was loved as a result.

Besides being the most relatable character in Force Awakens, he's also got the most interesting backstory and journey, from storm trooper to hero. Casey Sasaki Agreed. Finn was cool but didn't get enough time in the movie. Same with Phasma. She was disappointing. Also Ren in my opinion sucked the moment he took off his mask. Rei also wasn't that good to me because I didn't believe her character. She is supposed to be the heroine kick ass girl in the movie but I didn't buy it. To me she seemed like some simple weak girl who simply got lucky at every turn.

Wow, John Rocha is painful to watch. Yells over everybody, cuts everyone else off constantly, strawmans the other fighters arguments, and apparently doesn't know that sequel refers to all subsequent movies (which ended up having him argue a ridiculous point that wasn't related to the question). It's especially unfortunate that you brought him on the same week you brought Jeremy back, since Jeremy is quiet and won't talk over others, so Jeremy barely talked, again. I'm not even a fan of Jeremy as a film critic, but he's clearly a nice guy who's a good fit for this show, and both times he's invited on he's been shoved to the side. Moral of the story, stop having John on the show.

I am a huge fan of you guys, especially of Movie Fights, but I have to say that this episode is barely watchable. Jeremy Jahns is the only one who seems to understand that argueing about a movie is something different than constantly yelling and interrupting the other people. While I'm sure that Mantz and Rocha are nice guys and they sure know a lot about movies, you either have to make sure that SOME sort of a normal discussion is happening or not invite them to this again, because it's terrible to listen to and frankly just annoys you so much you want them to shut up. It should be about who has the best ARGUMENTS (as you repeatedly say) and not who is the loudest or who talks the most ... Not a hater, just my opinion, looking forward to next week (and to the next time Jeremy Jahns is there with someone who actually know what a discussion is about)

It seems that John Rocha values progressive liberal moral messagges in movies more than the actual artistic beauty of them. This is not what a movie critic should do, or any Art critic for that matter. The first thing to consider when you look at a piece of Art is its artistic beauty, and the emotional impact that this piece of Art has on you, not the moralistic message that the movie is trying to deliver in order to change society. I really hate when critics use moral messages to justify positive or negative reviews of artistic expressions. It's simply not fair to Art. And it seems that this is the big trend in Hollywood for some decades now. Moral messages over artistic beauty. What a pity.

The arguments between John and Scott a lot of the time didn't seem genuine. Right out of the gate they tried to get a "feud" going because it was expected of them. I wasn't buying it.

I agree with Jeremy getting the first point, but I think he missed the biggest reason why it is something to be worried about. The fact that Sony started their trailer with something that implies a connection with the original movie is a sign that they don't have faith in their own movie to stand on its own. They feel there is so little to draw in the audience to the reboot that they have to spend a significant portion of the trailer leveraging the popularity of the original. If the studio is worried about their product, the audience definitely has a reason to be worried.

What do you guys think about a reboot of Police Academy? Why or Why not? I think Police Academy would be a great film to reboot since it's based in a Police Academy you can use a whole new cast without ruining the original movie since the older cadets would be established cops by now. I think it would be a great movie to reboot.
