Hi everyone and welcome back once again! I have gotten many requests from people asking me to do Thor’s hammer so I did it today in my own way. I hope you all enjoy this video! Also, the Iron Man and Captain America molds are now available for purchase on my website. See you all next week and have a great day!

Cool under pressure dude. Very well done. You can tell you've come a long way with pouring metal. That was the best mistake I've seen. When you can get that good of a casting after something as unnerving as that, you are definitely getting good. Always a pleasure watching your work.

just a thought i had, if youre worried about your gas line being hit with embers at all buy a tig sleeve for the tig lines. think that would help you and bigstack. it would stop yall from having to use your gloves to cover them and you could even leave it on there all the time.

Bad ass I've been watching you for a while now and at Christmas my girlfriend got me a forge and a few molds and we'll it's coming up on my birthday on June 14th and she wanted to know what I wanted and I saw a few of your molds and told her the link so I'm hoping that she gets me them she got me a resin 3D printer so I can make some of my own I have a 3D printer but every time I make them a print and then try to cast it in the clay it doesn't turn out that good but I'm still trying... But thank you for the inspiration

Damn nice try with the tapered sprue and all but if I may make a few suggestions 1:- Throw away the scissor pouring tongs and go to a simple hoop on the end of a rod - this will give you much better control of your pour. The tongs look nice but best suited to a fixed place in your display case. 2:- Basin needs to be cut deeper and squarer so the metal does not ricochet out like that. See my "basin and sprue" video - cut with a pipe not a spoon! 3:- Ridge in basin needs to be much lower, again see basin and sprue video. With a basin say, 1.5 inch in diameter and 1.5 inch deep the ridge height from bottom of the basin should be O.375 inch - when you pour there should be 1 to 1 .125 inch of metal over the top of the ridge, this plus a very generous radius from the top of the ridge to the side of the sprue is the secret.The ridge sort of acts like a well radiused speed bump. If you had not lost all that metal up front all the castings would have filled nicely. Well done for giving this better technique a go, please stick with it...Martin
@ArtByAdrock3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know I screwed up just thought I’d give it a go anyways. 🤷🏻♂️ thanks for the info and your input. The tongs though I’ve had no issue with I just poured entirely too fast. Oops

Wow, you did a tapered spru and pouring basin with a ridge? I see swdweeb talk about this a lot and explain the science behind it as I have begun researching and reading up on the art of casting and pouring to prep for my first attempt at casting in sand. What are your thoughts on it’s effectiveness based on your experience casting?
