Once watched a Championship Casting Event in Delaware on a beach next to the Maryland & Delware Indian Inlet! Both the Spinning & Casting Reel Divisions, that's the first time I watched casters used the African Pendulum Cast! With their backs to the Alantic I thought they were crazy! Until I saw them rock the 5 3/4 oz weight and loadup the rod and spin towards the ocean the rod at almost bent at 270° and letting the wieght go! They were making cast over 600' plus! Then I understood their casting technique!

I used to love sending four or five oz plus bait couple hundred ft out into the surf at Delaware's beaches and then the worst thing in the world happened... I got old, two torn rotator cuffs and a bad wrist. So I started training studying learning and I've learned a new way to get that rig and bait out there 300 400 500 yds, no problem. My wife got me a drone, I made a little release underneath of it I just set that ride in the rod holder flip the reel fly that bad boy out till I saw a good spot straight down with the camera turn around give the ride a little yank pull the bait off the drone splash it's your own back I'm fishing. (I know I know it's not fair it's not sportsman like but you know what if she didn't come up with this idea I might as well just stick the fishing out of a little kiddie pool with these shoulders.) What he just did was incredible I've never been able to cast that far, I don't think I ever got close to it. The one thing I always loved and appreciated was when the old timers who have been surf fishing for years I mean when I was in diapers they were on that beach, they would give you honest free advice on what bait when to throw over the surf where they're breaking when to land in it what's out there and why, best teachers in the world God bless them.

Wonder why Carp Anglers don't take note, there are certain lakes where extreme distance seems to get the best results, and it's clear from all the records that a multiplier and longer rod is the best combination.
@beacon64242 жыл бұрын
Carp anglers DO use long rods, have you never seen 13fters? carp anglers definitely can cast upwards of 200 yards. Carp anglers do not use multipliers because that's not what it was designed for. Think about it.
@lamania32 Жыл бұрын
If you surrounded by trees you have no space to do this, so overhead is the only solution. as Beacon said upper 200 meters (yard< meter) are not rare 13.5ft rods about 100gram load 0.17-0.30 line with 20 meter of 30-40lbs shock leaders. Pendulum casting is for surf fishing, in a lake environment most places you are surrounded by either ppl or obstacles. Also we have a funny nick name to pendelum casting: "sythe"

He's got a bait casting reel on. Correct me if I'm wrong but I always thought a spinning reel gained better distance. When I think about the way the line leaves the spool yes I can see how it would much easier exit a bait casting reel but with the way they tend to knot up I just don't understand how casting this hard wouldn't cause a birds nest. Is it just a matter of experience with a bait casting reel that casting this hard you know how to prevent the nest?
@vanilabalz12054 жыл бұрын
bruh
@deancollison50934 жыл бұрын
It's to do with braking system there's a knob on the side of the his reel as you cast the reel won't be spinning at max rpm just ye so you have brakes on then you start to back them off as reel speeds up then when it starts to slow you can either apply more brakes or thumb it and also some comes down to smoothness of cast to prevent birds nests and fixed spools cause more friction on first eye as it twists and goes threw making it slow down quicker than conventional
@ernie5484 жыл бұрын
Spinning is easier but conventional is always less *drag* :)
@rfdsrd2 жыл бұрын
Multipliers will out distance spinners when correct casting technique and spool magnetic control is observed. The equipment reason is that revolvers can free spool and allow less drag on the payload, whereas spinners will have increased drag as the main line leaves the spool and increasingly hits more of the spool's rim. In the above video yer witnessing a master at work.
@mermaidmuncher27082 жыл бұрын
Some reels have magnetic braking system allowing you to have less tension (friction) on spool, fishing line with no memory helps, weight, leader length, reel, pole, weather, technique all has a lot to do with long casting. I’m pretty sure this guy has lots of practice which helps!
