This was a heartbreaking scene, but it really shows how far Castle came from a playboy I suppose the words are. He came a long way, but it really does show he cares. He doesn’t make a scene, he is not being a jackass or a smartass. He’s being respectable. Even though he knows it’s painful to just let her go with someone else, he walks away thinking of her and not himself.

Agree with all of the above. But Beckett wants to be with CASTLE not Josh. Its as clear as day by the way she's LOOKING at Castle while hugging Josh.

Ye, that's a noble move but it was sad. You may also known, in reality, that's even more sad. A lot of case in our reality are really noble and honor to be admired by the mass, but those also are sad. Not to be so beautiful eventually in the movie.

I agree with cutiepie. I think Castle knew how lucky he was to have Beckett by his side, and Beckett knew what he was saying. Just the way Castle looked at her, she just about blushed. I must also agree with veronika-- Beckett knew Castle was going to say something, and realized he didn't say anything because Josh was coming. They need to stop having drinks after work AT work-- those situations end in heartbreak! Go someplace where nobody knows where you are so you can talk!

Love this show but the episode was so sad! I guess I'll watch the Nikki Heat clip when Natalie asks Beckett if Castle is gay! That cracks me the fack up! And after an ep like Countdown it's needed!

Just saw the promo for One Life to Lose and I can't even stand looking at Beckett. Guess I might be done with the show. Really a horrible ending to 3 seasons of long stares, winks, flirting...etc. "I was just doing my job" Beckett says to Fallon, looks at Castle and says, "I don't know what the hell he was doing." Really? How about saving your life yet again, ungrateful wench!! I hope Castle moves on, know I am. :)
