I just played Shadow of the Colossus for the first time after meaning to play it for years, I finally got around to it and just finished Ico today, they are both beautiful games and this piece really struck a chord with me, thanks for this video, I will definitely try and learn this myself :)

I found this version while looking for a synthesia one to learn the song (Im faster learning songs on synthesia than using sheets) and I have to say that I liked it very much. Sadly, there are some notes that I cannot perceive well. I will learn them from the sheet anyway :) "Castle in the mist" is very special for me because somehow (at least for me) it represents the place itself, that strange "whole" which hides the dilemma of the story: everything is unknown, which is just poetic. Great cover mate.

Dave Peppiatt What do you think about the sound of the Yamaha P155 ? do yo prefer using the vsts or the built-in sound. The only thing lacking is the bass which makes the chords with the left hand feel a bit weak, it may be because of the built-in speakers of course.

I definitely prefer using piano vsts to the built-in piano tone/s but that's not to say that I think the P155 sounds bad, far from it. I agree the bass is a little lacking through the P155's speakers (running it through better speakers or good headphones combats most of this problem) but other than that I think it has a really nice tone that's suitable for a lot of different styles. I prefer vsts because they sound much more realistic (depending on the vst of course) and are usually very flexible with their sound, more than any digital piano can offer. But most of these vsts come at a premium price, as well as having quite high computer requirements and depend on other expensive software/hardware to run (kontakt, a daw, studio monitors, etc). So really it depends how much money one would want to invest to get the best possible sound.

Thanks :) It's a now discontinued Yamaha P155. The piano tone is not from the P155 though. It's from vst called The Giant made by Native Instruments.

@@kash9606 Well the P155 is even bigger than the DGX-300. Most full sized, weighted keyboards will be but the playability will be far better. I not sure what to recommend for you, it all depends on how much you want to spend. The P155 is a mid range stage piano that I paid about £1000 for many years ago. It's got an awesome keyboard and feels great to play.

I've seen the E3 Trailers and it looks awesome! Unfortunately I don't have a PS4 so I'm going to miss out on it. Maybe in a few years when the PS4 comes down in price I might pick one up and play the remake. Until then I'm still happy playing the PS2 original.

Hi Cameron. I'm sorry, I'm not sure exactly what your asking. At around 0.36 there's 4 chords that repeat on the right hand. Their basically Em, D, C and D chords with the highest note remaining on the B from the Em. If that's not the answer your looking for could you please be a little more specific with further questions. Thanks.

Cameron Gunter No worries mate, we all start somewhere. I'm pretty sure your talking about "rolled chords". A rolled chord is instead of playing all of the notes of a chord at the same time you'd play them in ascending or descending order. Taking an Em chord as an example, (say E=1, G=2 and B=3) instead of playing >123< in a block you could play 1>2>3 or 3>2>1 depending on the effect you want to create. A rolled chord can also be functional, say for example you come across a chord thats too big for your hand to streach. By rolling the chord you can take you finger off the 1st note so you can move you hand further up or down so you can hit the 3rd or 4th note. Also if you see a squiggly line symbol in front of a chord on sheet music, it's telling you to roll the chord. Lypur covers rolled chords in video 38 of his free online piano course - #38 Rolling Chords on Piano I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
