It would‘ve been interesting if Beckett‘s mother had been with her during Castle‘s reading of 1 of his 1st novels about Nikky Heat,based on Beckett,she would‘ve been glad to meet Castle,his mother and his daughter from his 1st marriage and would‘ve talked to Martha & Alexis about Castle before he & Beckett became more than friends.

Having Beckett's mother be alive would have completely changed the show. Her murder was a major plot line for 5 seasons.

In an early episode, they have to go undercover and laney is helping her find something to wear, she has nothing and then a delivery comes with a dress from castle.... Now, in that scene, it makes it look that Kate had no clothes, yet she looked smoking in this outfit, so it seems if she had one stunning dress, she might have more, just seemed odd....
