It is normal. The remastering that SEGA did is beautiful. With its 3D and 2D parts that can remind you of the mechanics of changing the camera to the most modern SONICS

I played all 3 and I must say that all them are great on it's own way, although, I prefer the original Mega Drive version, it have a special feeling to it, and also it's the one that holds a special place on my heart.

The og Castle of Illusion is actually the Genesis version (1990), they did the Master System/Game Gear version in 1991. I'll always have a soft spot for the latter, since It's the one I grew up with.
