Castlevania: Bloodlines - Transfusion (OST Recreation/Cover/Arrangment)

Happy Halloween, everybody!
The timing for this just kind of worked out; I've been working on this since I think March of this year (2023) and am finally happy with the sound of everything. A pack for use with the MD+ rom hack is available further down.

You want the MD+ one! It won't work properly with MSU_MD.
Apply the rom hack using a patching utility (there are a bunch out there, Google is your friend). Place the patched rom in a folder with the contents of the pack zip file and run it in an MD+-friendly emulator or on your favorite Genesis flash cart. I use Genesis Plus GX through Retroarch for emulation, and a Mega Everdrive Pro to play on console.
If you find any problems, please let me know and I'll do my best to fix them!

Finally KZbin recommended some good stuff... I've been listening some remastering of this game's OST recently, but this arrange is entirely in another league. Oh man, this is so gorgeous! Someone must put this in a remake or fangame ASAP

There's references to chronicles and SCV4 in a few of the arrangements here actually. The Beginning (one little bass thing comes from SCV4), Bloody Tears (you've already spotted that one) and Simon's theme (incorporates some stuff from the chronicles version).

THIS IS SO GOOD. Yamane-san pushed the Genesis to its absolute limit, and you've gone beyond! Thank you for the download options, if there's anything from this year worth burning to a disc so I don't have to fuss with an aux cord to have it as driving music, it's this brilliance. ❤ (As to why I'm four days late... youtube enjoys turning off notifications at random, even now. Sigh.)

@@vdubs4189 I'm glad ✨ I know this sounds cheesy, but I'm genuinely glad to know my words encouraged you. And I'm really looking forward to the ROMhack, I forgot to say so before! Edited to add - your version of Requiem For The Nameless Victims is up there with the "Michiru Yamane Autobiographical Music" version, for me. If you haven't heard it, that one's seemingly acoustic - it opens with a wordless lullabye, then spirals out into a string arrangement. Yours is purely synth, but it too leaves me feeling like I've been wrapped up in a warm, comfortably heavy blanket somewhere safe. Or maybe like I'm surrounded by a warm, heavy, comfortable wall of sound....

@@leewilder2896I wouldn't call that cheesy. And as much as I try to deny it has any sort of major impact on me, validation from other people DOES make me feel good lol. Me too, I'm looking forward to being able to play the whole game start to finish with my soundtrack. The romhack is already available on Zeldix; once I've got the music set up, I'll add a link to it, as well as the music pack. I'll have to check out that other version, sounds interesting. Thanks for the tip! Edit: You weren't kidding. It's beautiful. I'm inclined to believe that's an actual string quartet playing it, which is kind of how I imagined it was meant to be when I heard the original version for the first time.
