Julius Belmont is the latest warrior in the Belmont family line that have been the heroes of nearly all the Castlevania series games. He was responsible for the apparently ultimate defeat of Dracula during 1999.
He appears in Castlevania Aria of Sorrow (2035), and Dawn of Sorrow
(2036).

Fun fact. Soma was originally supposed to say "kutabare" (translation: drop dead) when he used the great axe armour soul. This was removed from the english version, but kept in the japanese version (not in boss fight, but when you play as Soma). In the japanese version he says "shine" (translation: die) when he uses the axe (boss mode Soma). When he turns into the demon, he says "grant me power" just like every time you fight Dracula in the series.

That evil laugh is *awesome.* It's a shame that the Soma ("Neo Dracula") fight is *_easy_*...not as easy as the Menace fight [with the Final Guard Soul and Chaos Ring], though. Soma should definitely have used more Souls than the 6 he repetitively used in both phases. :P

This is the closest in the Sorrow games you get to Belmont vs Dracula, though the original Dracula vs Julius fight (1999 fight) where the Vampire King was destroyed completely would be great

Considering Alucard has his history of fighting alongside the Belmonts, and I THINK he was also involved in the '99 sealing, then im sure Julius knows who he is. I mean, its pretty hard not to recognize him. But hey, who knows.

@alexriveratr you are right but, what happened is that Richter passed on the wip to the morris family cause he renounsed the title of vampire hunter for having evil in his heart dus being controled by shaft(ctlvn:soth) and after years of being in exile in 1999 there was no other choice but to look for a desendant to stop Dracula once and for all so they looked for julios who ultimatly defited Dracula and seled him in the eclipse dus stoping his resurection cicle and then suffering amnesia :p

I think this is a better final boss than the original mode of DOS. Every Castlevania game the last boss is Dracula, in Dawn of Sorrow we have a major step back, since you fight a gigantic, slow, boring demon, who appeared as a mere accident of someone's greed. Julius mode has a much better final boss! But in Aria of Sorrow it's the essence of Chaos, so it's better and more intense than Dracula! In the other hand, AOS julius mode you fight the "accident", so it's kind the other way around.

Wait, Soma says "Kurenai" then "Julius Belmont", right? "Kurenai", I think, literally translates into "Don't come". So why is Soma attacking Julius in order to kill? Or does Soma say something else instead of "Kurenai" or does "Kurenai" translate into something else? Btw, wow, seriously, being able to defeat Soma with only 25 HP. xD Nice.

dance of illusions is draculas ultimate theme, soma becoming no dracula, it is fitting he inherits it, since dracula is gone forever now.

He couldn't have been in his 30's in AoS. He's the one that defeated Dracula in 1999. AoS takes place in 2035. DoS takes place in 2036. He was born in 1980 and fought Dracula when he was 19.

AoS Julius mode is really nothing more than a character swap. And since you cant, as julius, equip the Giant bat, Succubus and Flame Demon souls, the battle ends at Graham

There was a time that the belmonts disappear between last years of XVIII century and beginning of the XIX century. "In their place, several organizations are formed to try and find ways to prevent Dracula from returning. The most prominent of these is the Order of Ecclesia"

after death and abaddon, soma is such a pushover, i learn his patterns after 1 fight, he is extremely easy with yoko, easy with juluis and a long boring battle for alucard, but far from being worth of the final boss

you need to kill every boss on dracula's castle, look well, you must have missed one boss, look for every area or look at the enemy info in the main game mode
