Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse 2020 Final Stage with Death New Music and Voice Overs

So I've played through Dracula's Curse 2020, and while it is definitely still unpolished, it was fun. There are additional secret levels, which are taken from Curse of Darkness, two additional playable characters, and many different costumes for the original four characters!
Level design is a hit or miss. Some levels, like stage 1, have too much going on in the background that sometimes you can't decipher where to go. There are some 3D effects in some of the stages, but if you catch yourself looking at it while playing, it'll definitely mess with your eyes.
As stated there are new levels, however, they are very, very, very linear! They also tend to glitch and it'll just start raining down enemies from the sky! There are also a lot of trust falls in levels, especially in Alucard's Cave! Music is good, ripped from pervious titles and albums, which brings us to this video!
This is the final stage in the game, and the design is very well done! It feels like a definate final level, with great background animation. But, what hinders this level is the 30 second loop of Pressure!!!!! I immediately had to correct this! So I used previous music I've showcased in the past to make this level flow better, which it definitely does!
I know this was a long intro, but there's so much to talk about with this new version of Dracula's Curse lol! So here's my run through of the final stage using Curse of Darkness Trevor Belmont, who is a beast and double jumps, with the new playable character Death, who I didn't use lol! Oh and Dracula is super, super easy to beat!

I'm gonna be 45 this month and my favorite memory in gaming was way back in 1991, when Super Castlevania debuted. Outstanding graphics and a pinnacle of a musical soundtrack to compliment. I've been waiting decades for a Castlevania game that can be called a worthy successor to this SNES masterpiece.

Always thought Konami should remake Castlevania 1-3. Don’t change level design or anything like that. Just brand new graphics, UI, etc. Kind of like what Square is doing with the Final Fantasy pixel remasters. Although, for Castlevania 2, they could add and/or change things to make the game better than it was, like making the game less cryptic, adding bosses to every dungeon and improving the final boss.

Death helping a Belmont is out of the question to defeat Dracula. Not sure whoever made ths what their minds were set on. Dracula(Mathias) and Death are friends since 1094! Forget Crimson stone controlling magic or anything. He chose to be with Mathias likely out of his own Will, at least at a later point. If Soma Cruz is gonna be taken into account that he has what appears to be Crimson stone ( similar to the one Mathias is seen wearing in Lament of Innocence) it could mean Mathias lost it/ duplicates of it exists (reincarnation), which would (according to the lore) make Death Not

3:22 Oh shit, were those portraits of Lisa and Alucard? I love details like that, glimpses of Vlad's humane side was never explored outside of SotN, Curse of Darkness and CV3's anime. It's too bad his story was so short lived in the anime, but perhaps we'll get to see more one day if they decide to adapt Lament of Innocence.

Awesome! The NES cartridge I played the most. Bought it for $20 in 1992 when it came down price. It was the last NES game I played a ton before becoming a PC gamer the following year. This looks like Castlevania III and SOTN at the same time.

things to polish: -smoother screen scrolling (it looks chunky) -faster stair walking -clearer definition for the main character, he's looking kinda blurry -3:34 this visual glitch, and too much time to change rooms -fix dracula's green skin, he needs more animation, and his beast mode is static lol it's a good idea thou, I loved the whip attack animation and the soundtracks 👌

Very amazing. The only downside is that the game becomes too easy with the CoD mobility of Trevor and Hector. Those guys doing double jumps and changing direction in mid-air are too OP for a Classicvania level design.

Agreed. It's got the same issue as CV IV, with Simon being more maneuverable but the enemies haven't changed to match him. I would've preferred if they added a 'veteran' or 'hardcore' mode to please us fanboys.

I'm ok about listening to "bloodlines" and "bloody Tears" instead "pressure", but once dracula's 1st form is beaten, starting from the second form, the theme MUST BE the "big battle" (1 and 2) like the original castlevania 3 game. Might enjoy playing as death. But this could never happen in Canon. Death is the power behind Dracula. Death made Dracula who he is. And only way they would fight is a Soma kind of deal. Because Dracula being reincarnated is no longer doing what he was created for.

So Trevor's wipe and run animations confused me. There are times in both where he appears to look away from the camera both while running and wiping. Traditional whip animations didn't block of Simon or Trevor's face.

Good grief, the NES version of this level was hard and the music was eerily creepy and stressful. I was to beat many times with all the spirit partners as well as Belmont alone to get all the end credits and did the hard replay. Belmont's double air jumps are too op but taking out all 3 forms of Dracula without losing 1life was tops.

I’d almost forgotten how much I loved the inconvenience of only getting to whip in two directions when most of enemies are super low to the ground or too high up to reach. And how could I ever forget how much I loved being forcefully knocked back into a pit fall every time I made a mistake and got hit? It really makes me shed a tear as I think about how convenient we have it now that we have a castlevania game where you’re actually able to control your jumps. I’ve beaten every castlevania game of the 8-bit and 16-bit era countless times. I do not regret my sarcasm *mic dropped*

I'd love to, but unfortunately I kinda find this one better. The controls in Chronicles 3 are absolutely horrible, especially with the stairs. Plus enemies, like skeletons take 3 hits to destroy with the most powerful whip! Hopefully in the future BMC Warmachine will fix these issues.

@@VampireKillerCrypt actually the controls are only problematic with keyboards, the conroller seems fine. And skeletons and some other enemies are extremely weak to any sub weapon, for example the whip kills skeletons with 3 hits but a single dagger could kill them in a single hit and pierce through them. You are right on the game being unpolished, but I think they will update the game in future and give us a more balanced and fluid game(if they don't abandon it like all other CV3 projects).
