I discarded this game immediately after noticing it wasn't a 2D platformer, despite loving fighting games. Honestly, it looks pretty good. Definitely have to give this a go with a couple of people here. Great review as always, man!

Cheers dude. I did the same on release, was initially interested but the more that was said about it I decided to wait. Wish I had gone through with my preorder originally. The AI is pretty bad, even on harder difficulties, but I imagine once a few friends get the hang of a couple of characters you could have some good fights. Definitely give it a try and let me know how you get on.

Great review man. You’re right, this game does get a lot of hate but I thought it was a pretty good game. The cutscenes and music are great. I never really got good at the game but as a huge Castlevania fan, I really enjoyed it.

Thanks dude. I think the problem with a lot of big franchises is that when they go outside their normal gameplay style, people are too quick to be critical of them. Resident Evil is always one that I find interesting as I like all versions of it, yet some people passionately hate fixed camera angles or first person gameplay. You can pull off some pretty impressive combos in this I've found, basically building a hyper and removing half a health bar in one go, then hitting the opponent with it for the win. Makes it incredibly boring but fun to watch.

@@ryoma0045 I agree. The Zelda series is like that as well. A lot of people don’t care for the games that have done something different. Even Breath of the Wild. I try to be open minded with games and accept them for what they are. Some games are truly bad though lol. Also I like the part of the video about Maria being obsessed with oppai lol.

The bits with Maria totally threw me off whilst playing 😂 was not expecting it but can't say I'm surprised to be honest.

There are so many games out there I've never heard of and I'm very pleased when the games you choose to review are ones I've never heard of before. I'm not a big fighter game fan my self but i do like the Castlevania theme of the game. If I ever come across this in the wild ill have to pick it up and try it out. Thanks for the awesome review.

Thank you dude! I think that's one of the great things about gaming in general, there's so many games released that even if you try and keep up to date there's always something out there that that you've never seen. This is definitely a game that's flown under the radar due to it's poor reception, but the more I played it the more it started to click. Wish I had picked up earlier.

This is such an interesting title. It's like a mix between Power Stone and Soul Calibur. At the end of the day we all looked at this and wished we had another 2D Castlevania game lol Or what if this fighter was 2D in vs Capcom / Arc System Works style. Nice review! 🤙

I think if Arc System Works had a go at doing a Castlevania fighter it would be insane! This definitely plays like a mix of those 2, and can get quite deep for combos depending on how much time you put in. It just wasn't the Castlevania game any of us were expecting :D
