To this day I wonder why Konami never made a version of Rondo of Blood for PS1 or Sega Genesis when we had a version of Castlevania from x68000 for PS1

Maybe they had a contract for some timed exclusivity, the source code could be a mess or they thinked that time and budget could be spent better on a new game... They "did" a version of Rondo on the SNES but we all know how it did turn out lol.

Ah man, I thought you ported the whole thing. Still really cool. Can't wait for the finished product. I do not envy you. It took us years to build a sega mega drive/genesis style game for PC that we'll be releasing this september, and that was hard because we didn't want to take shortcuts like using an already made engine like Godot or Unity but wanted something lite so that is can be ported to anything. And here you are trying to make a technically impressive PC-Engine CD game for a cartridge only 16-bit console. I love how you just brute force your storage issue by using modern rom/cart. How you're gonna do the music? I would've thought it would be done for the Sega CD.

There's a recently released new sound dac driver that can be used for samples up to 32khz quality (or more). Check out Mega PCM. Roms will be big, but it will sound amazing.

Le han gustado las voces digitalizadas, con la mala fama que tiene la Mega drive al reproducirlas, suena muy bien. Deseando poder probar una demo en mi Mega drive.

Por que hay dos problemas: -Espacio en ROM. -Ancho de banda del co-procesador de audio; El Z80. Depende mucho como el programador haga su trabajo en el Z80 para reproducir muestras PCM en el DAC del YM2612 y a la vez cuánta ROM disponible haya, en varios juegos para liberar ancho de banda del Z80 hacen que el Motorola 68000 controle el FM y PSG mientras el Z80 está enfocado en su totalidad con el DAC, curiosamente los ports de Street Fighter 2 hacen eso y aún así las muestras PCM suenan mal por tener mal programado el Z80, lo que hace el parche para solucionar eso simplemente reemplaza el driver Z80 por otro, que fue programado por el mismo creador del SGDK que es con lo que fue programada esta intro en lenguaje C; Stephane Dallongeville. Él mismo también programó el driver XGM2 que permite reproducir muestras ADPCM con una calidad bastante decente, se ejecuta en el Z80 y también el Z80 controla el FM y PSG si así lo deseas, todo un crack :).

That narrative voice work is superb, it seems to be the hardest thing to achieve on MD is clear voice samples. What sound driver are you using ?

I would like to make a full port of this game, but, unfortunately, I cannot devote as much free time to development as a full port would require. Therefore, for now the final goal is 2 intros, playable prologue and stage 1.

Pena que ainda não existe dev kit pra Sega-CD :( mas os cartuchos everdrives e emuladores são um trunfo.
