I wouldn't say "everything". For example, as characters, I do prefer Primrose to Agnea, or H'annit to Ochette (which, I know a lot of people seem to love Ochette. I just prefer H'annit). And while I do enjoy the whole things were some characters have simultaneous chapters and you can choose the order, sometimes it creates weird pacing (Like, for example, Throné's "Mother Chapter 2" have absolutely no dungeon, no boss fight. Or Osvald first 2 chapters which really should have been just one chapter on its own. Or there's one with Partitio where there's no dungeon, but there is a boss fight. Stuff like that.) That might sound nitpicky, and that's because it is. Indeed both games are pretty amazing, and in many instances the second game improved on the first. I'm just saying, there's still a few stuff I like better from the first game

@@ChevaliersEmeraude Wish I could comment on it but haven't played the 2nd game yet. I have loved the 1st game a lot but mostly for the gameplay & not the story. I feel the story is good but with varying quality between the characters. Some of the characters stories have been snoozefests & make me want to just get back into the action, while others were engaging and fun. Strangely enough, I have enjoyed Olberic's story the most of all thus far when I suspected his would be the worst as his character seemed the most generic, but I find myself enjoying it the most by far. I did have to stop playing the game when Tears of the Kingdom came out, (nothing waits for TOTK) but absolutely plan to go back to Octopath once I'm done with it. Octopath is great but TOTK is a life experience lol. It's pure unadulterated ecstasy in video game form. I was having an amazing time with Octopath but TOTK transcends the maximum amount of joy that we thought we could possibly feel from a video game.

@@skins4thewin lol, well hopefully I didn't spoil too much with my comment? I guess a few character names, and a few pacing weirdness... sorry. But yeah I do recommend you try out Octopath 2 at one point, it is absolutely worth it, especially if you loved the first one! :)

@@ChevaliersEmeraude I prefer it this way because it does provide flexibility to the individual stories being told. But I do wish there was more connective tissue between the travelers. It's a lot better this time around but this still isn't where it could really go in that regard. There is a LOT of interaction at the end at least. Agnea's story in general feels entirely different from the others. I enjoyed all of it regardless. I couldn't get into the first game nearly as much.

​@@ChevaliersEmeraudeimo the worst pacing problem is with Ochette, because since you could technically do all three of her chapter 2s in any order you want, they can't make her story progress normally. If, for instance, Acta route was chapter 2, Tera was chapter 3 and Glacis was chapter 4, they could've made her story progress more naturally and feel just more well developed. Also, it just feels wrong doing a chapter 2 at like, recommended level: 37. At that point, level 37 is enough to take on even some chapter 5s...

To clear the history, big yes, for end game purposes, probably Hikari or Ochette

@@ricardoge96 Castti can provide unlimited BP battery, buffs, HP and SP healing, break potential, insane damage potential, and so on in end game. She's the best support for end game purposes and her elemental damage concocts can literally challenge Hikaris damage. I say Hikari is my number two because of his damage potential and the ease to access it, but no way Ochette is even comparable. Ochette is actually someone who's great in the story but falls off in end game. She's got incredible break utility but that's the main thing she can do in end game.

@@seven_8434 Just curious how? Is there a specific build or just naturally. I understand she's a great support but I feel like the closer I get to endgame the less I use her. I feel like Partitio is a better support with the right skills and job class. I can see the damage output bc she was the second character I got and she can be strong with physical attacks but elemental I found her somewhat limiting during mid game. Would love to learn how I can make her more strong.

​@@seven_8434 King Caith can literally make you invincible and reflect enemy atks at the same time. Love to see Country Bumpkin, Soldier Boy or Drug Lady do that.

@@mappybc6097 there's a small chance the Cait does that and soldier boy can literally do that as well and way more consistently with a learned skill. Also, as crazy as it is, being invincible is a useless ability. In end game you're dealing so much damage that defensive support isn't needed. Castti is a consistent enabler of all characters as she can keep your party at max BP, SP, and give buffs and debuffs and she herself can deal insane damage, perhaps even the highest damage in the game as she can fire off like 6 heavy elemental damage attacks which can get close to cap if you build her. Not even Hikari can do that kind of thing. Beasts that deal multi hit aoe hits are way more OP than Chubby Cait since you can break literally any enemy in a single turn with provoke beasts.

Does weak to poison increase Poison Axe’s attack?

Iirc. Poison axe just does axe type damage and can poison. Weak to poison just makes the enemy lose shields when poison ticks on them. Decent for chipping away at high health and shield targets while playing defensively. But most any build utilizing 'a step ahead' lets you shred bosses before they even get a turn

I heard somewhere that alpione's amulet scales with max hp. Is this true? If so is it worth wearing armor/headgear that raises max hp to boost the damage or is it only minimal?

Nah, I don’t believe it does. It is just fortitude on an accessory that also affects magic.

Alpione's amulet makes it so that the character deals more damage the less HP they have. That's why you constantly see those overused 1HP builds. Mixed in with Deal more damage skills and equipment and your character can deal 99,999 damage points on every single attack. I use this on Hikari with armmaster and he basically melts anything in his path. It can get very boring really fast tho because it almost feels like a cheat. Even if you're not on 1HP. Let say you're halfway you can still deal a ton of damage. ranging from 45K to 50K each hit

​@@VideoStalker00 The opposite strat is less effective, but it can be a break from monotony. Get price of power plus save sp from Arcanist and Peak Performance from Armsmaster. Now have Temenos use prayer for plenty on your nuke caster. If said caster happens to be Osvald equipped with 2 elemental augmentors+ battle tested staff with Alphan Wisdom and full boosted true magic? You get 60k-70k x3 to all enemies, regardless of shields at lv55 pretty consistently.

@@mappybc6097 Another thing that is very important is to equip the elemental type boosting weapons. Octopath works on multiplicative damage so for example the fire lance multiplies damage by 1.2, there are 3 elemental boosting weapons for some of the elements which in total is a 1.726 damage increase and that is added onto everything else. Similar but much more broken things was possible in O1. A skill set that I like to run with this type of build would be 1. step ahead (just that broken) 2. Arcanist skill 3. improved accessories 4. peak performance No mp saver because if done right the enemies should be dead before they even get a turn (run throne + temenos for the buffs and debuffs)

An effect that grants extra BP at the end of the turn, you can get it from the Conjurer skill BP Boost, but it also can be granted by Castti's Remedy if I'm not mistaken
