I think Seth really shows a level of maturity and humor that come with having played the game for a long time. It would be easy to rage and complain about his situation. I loved how he just pivoted to what he *could* control at the end. What a cool dude.

here's an idea for a theme week: salt budget. it's like budget week, but instead of going by card prices you add up the edhrec salt scores to aim for some low number. surely nothing but _fair magic_ would happen with such a restiction

Crim is complaining about the Lurking Predators, but he had a Unstable Obelish to deal with it and he never did. He could have done it the turn after Phill played the Lurking Predators and Phill would have got only 2 creatures. Hoping the other people at the table use an answer while he saves his. I think there is a healthy way to do this politically but this game was too much for me. It's also the others' fault kingmaking Phil. Lurking Predators is a must-kill card and they just fed it like a Rhystic Study at a 4 Seths table, just to play useless creatures, even with Crim saying "Just don't feed it and I won't attack you".

The reason remove from the game was changed to exile is to clear up that confusion that came up. Exile is by definition a zone in the game, and thus it is within the game. You cannot Spawnsire or Wish a card exiled into the game cause it is within the game. Given the lack of sideboards in commander, these zones do nothing officially, though one can houserule them in (like Lesson cards etc)
@Welverin
@Welverin 10 ай бұрын
When they made that change, they should have changed outside the game cards to include exile. They have a nasty habit of changing the rules and not changing cards so they continue to function they way they were designed to.

Crims politics are so bad and I would never fall into them personally. His board is huge, he has the most powerful creature in both power and ability and is still trying to paint phil as the enemy. Players who can't realize they are the issue are a bit annoying. Like yes phil (or any player at the table realistically) could combo and win. But if the players cant beat your board, you just win. So imo Richard and Seth made the correct plays in feeding the predators. Sometimes when you're down, you need a champion to take the heat off you.

Wait a minute.. "lands decks" are considered over powerful? Or is this sarcasm? I can't tell anymore I'm waiting for someone to tell me tribal and life gain decks are too powerful. "Basically if your deck has synergy and a purpose it's too powerful" lmao "only rando piles of jank in commander" oh please

Why for the love of Nicol Bolas did Phil not cast Meathook for x equal 11...after killig the Kozilek with his deathtoucher....the whole Board gets killed...and next turn he plays erie Ultimatum.... Seriously why not????????

The editors note about wishes that mentioned you could possibly wish for your companion isn't actually effective - the rules state explicitly that cards that bring other cards into the game don't function in commander, and what was changed to allow companions is that cards can bring themselves in to the game still function.

That part of the commander rules from the website isn't actually reflected in the CompRules, and may just be offloaded into the format not having traditional sideboards, which companions somehow get around in commander. With an uncertain situation, I turned to MTGO, and mtgo lets you wish for your companion just fine. But then again, mtgo is mtgo.

man ... getting your commander sniper by bowmaster is brutal. I would be salty. Its everywhere in modern so in a casual setting you expect to be able to cast your kobold but then it gets sniped by the same ass card you are tired to play against in other formats. On top of that Seth played risky with a 1 lander, damn.

Yeah we didn't really build the decks with the title in mind. I just filled in with anything goes as the theme. I'd not call Bowmasters Casual AF either 😅

I saw seth with one land and his creature gone on turn 1 had to leave after watching a non game for 3 turns. Y'all may be putting so many restrictions on your selves that end up being fun for 1 person but non games for others. Hopefully there will be a better game next time.

I feel so weird about this Zhulodok fellow, it's a neat ability and it's actually low enough to the ground to come out before the end of the game, but I still think you should just run Gruul or something, Gruul is rampy AF and has lots of handy ways to give Trample and the like, you also get to use Decimator of the Provinces, just in case End Raze Forerunners are too pushed for you! Gruuldrazi is better than Colorless, not sure why people get such a rush out of playing Colourless, it's really bad at lots of stuff, All is Dust is a great card, but most colourless stuff is more like Scour from Existence, where you probably should hesitate to run it even if you don't have other options, it's just so bad at what it does. Green ramp is lower to the ground than colourless, other than the very best stuff, and Green is crawling with 1 mana ramp while Colourless has a trickle of 0 and 1 mana ramp options, even if the best of those Colourless ones are super pushed. Kozilek is better with his harder casting cost, but new Ulamog is also very good, WAY better than the original, I don't run the shuffle-titans and I don't generally miss them (Emmy would probably be good, but the big girl is banned), they aren't as good as people remember. Annihilator is a really 'hit or miss' ability, vs some decks they lose a few irrelevant tokens, vs other decks they are key stuff. I'm not even sure if old Emmy is really better in Commander than new Emmy, it's like people freaking out about people being able to flicker a Primordial type stuff, the game has moved VERY MUCH on from that stuff being problematic, people run better stuff in their CZ these days (Prosper for example, which always starts with Inspiring Statuary and a Sol Ring), let alone in the 99, people don't even play that Blue Flicker engine anymore, the 5 mana that can flicker itself or 1 other creature. And yeah, old Kozilek is mostly a beatstick once you've drawn your cards, new Kozilek can do actual work. I run Lurking Predators in a deck with 57 creatures in the 99 (it downright slaps in there, you can either give me the game by casting stuff, or let me win by not casting stuff is usually how it plays out if people can't deal with it), and I've been trying to tempt myself to run it in my Gruul Eldrazi deck, it's exactly the kind of stupid card that Eldrazi love. The Gruul deck doesn't have as many creatures, but hitting a Blightsteel or Eldrazi would be just nutso value.

While it does make for mild entertainment, the inability of almost ALL Magic content creators to actually read their own cards is kinda scary. Especially when they take like 3-4 times to read a card and STILL miss basic text.
