Training mode is an absolute must for me. Give AI parry members so you can practice mechanics. I'm not new, but I'm very shy and gets nervous easily. I can watch a guide 100 times and still won't do the raid because I'm afraid I'll wipe everyone.

My biggest pain point was absolutely when my mokoko boost got me to a level of gear for the game to recommend going and getting relic gear before upgrading further ilvls. So I started looking for parties to do valtan to begin relic crafting. However, there were no parties willing to do anything but offer a paid bus(even though I far, far outleveled it and already grinded the crit card deck, as well as the super mokoko boost 5x3 engrave...) I haven't played in almost a year, I don't have gold outside of the weekly padding. the new chaos dungeons didn't get me any gold, just millions of silver I didn't need. I had also just melted most of what I had into getting my ilvl up. Truly a terrible returners welcome to have the community demand gold off the rip to progress, after encouraging me to melt what it gave me into ilvls I didn't need. And this is coming from someone who played for 1k hours through argos at launch. Imagine if you didn't understand the systems as well as I did coming back. I understand WHY bus' are what they are. But it really degrades the experience to feel gold-gated by players and systems both. Solo raids to get you caught up to real progression raids sounds like a good fix, but it's a shame to entirely miss out on prog'ing valtan as a squad. Not much to do there though, it seems, that ship has sailed.

I'm a returning player that have 1k hours on the game and am feeling exactly as you. Atm i finally got Valtan and Vykas set, but not without many party declines and many toxicity inside the raids that accepted me. Luckly i found a prog group to kill Clown. After all that i can say i'm not very motivated to try breelshaza or akkan with random people.

I was thinking about this solo content, in FF14 they have this NPCs that goes with you in the dungeons and do the mechanics, you learn by looking what they do, and they speak to you what need to be done as well, I think something like that would be amazing in Lost Ark

a lot of content like many islands and low ilvl world bosses are so dead that they really need to be made easier to solo because otherwise newer players will have a really hard time getting even on horizontal content that can give meaningful resources and things like skill points.

I would really love more feedback while I'm playing support. Sure, landing a godsent when my teammate is sitting at 2 health feels incredible, but I have no idea how well I'm buffing until I see Supporter/Noble/Radiant on the MVP screen. And even then it's genuinely tough to tell how well you actually did. Something which displays underneath each of your party members may be a good way of giving feedback. Some color or indicator which shows you vaguely how much bonus damage that dps team member is doing. It could range in colors from x1 dmg to x2 dmg, showing you roughly how effective your current buffs are. Would help make sure I'm not neglecting anyone in my party, and when I'm fully buffing, seeing that x2 glow around my teammates would feel really nice. If dps members could see this, it might clutter the screen too much, or maybe they'd enjoy seeing just how much they are being buffed at a glance. Surge could maybe hold off a second until their glow is higher, etc. I would also like to see some text pop up that tells me if I blocked my teammate from massive damage. Something like "Teammate Saved!" could pop up on top of their head like a damage number, and would feel really nice to see. Definitely lots of cool ways to make support feel weightier to play, but I think we can all agree that the current state is... pretty bad. What other ideas have y'all come up with?

I've always thought that supports should have a big nuke on a long cooldown that is basically as strong as a reasonably big button of a dps. That way you at least have one number in fights that you can see grow with your ilvl progression. That big nuke could also be partially linked to how much you buffed your teammates with your AP% buff beforehand, so that you store buffed damage and then get to dump it on the boss. Maybe this is too toxic because it would show supports a direct metric on how much their teammates potentially suck. Also, unrelated to that, make weapon quality increase the brand debuff of supports so that a 100 quality weapon does a 13% brand instead of 10%. Just something for supports to have a reason to care at all about quality.

I kind of wish supports were more like Gunlancer/Aeromancer: 'supportive dpses' with strong + noticeable utility as well as reasonable damage. In my perfect world both full support and hybrid support builds would be playable: Full support would still be best for making harder/on ilevel fights comfy, and support alts on a cheap build. Whereas hybrid builds would be for faster reclears and mains who want to get weapon glow value.

That was literally my biggest issue as a new player in lost ark (and honestly a lot of other MMOs). If you come in late to a raid and aren't there for progression there's this feeling that you're screwing up other people's experience. I would have so much anxiety before raiding instead of feeling like I'm about to do something I enjoy - so I just stopped playing. I think the solo experiences are a great option.

You're not alone with with your thoughts about why it doesn't "feel" like an mmo. This game doesn't really let you immerse yourself and appreciate your surroundings , including what others are doing, because of the view angle. I often wondered what it would be like if they'd let us have an over-the-shoulder view while in the cities or other leisure places.

I feel like we like Sonavel was partially because of the 1x Guardian Raids now. Though, being able to walk into Sonavel completely blind or somewhat rusty and still not get punished for failing mechs was what felt better, because in Hanu if you fuck up or forget mechanics, it's often a wipe and just doesn't feel good. Wiping can be fun, but not when it's meant to be a "daily" content where you do it and GTFO for the rest of the day and forget. Could be just me, but I'm getting similar sentiment from others. On top of that raid being on woeful drylands so missing phero isn't as punishing.

brel was huge let down for me it was something we were shown as something really cool to look forward but I ended up hating that raid and the gates with brel are unfortunately not very fun, 5 is just a mistake of a gate its soo bad, one of the worst gates smilegate has ever made and g6 is alright aside the stupid tile management which makes every run not relaxing because you gotta watch out for it all the time...

As a support with 6x Bards, 1x Artist i dont really mind that Supports dont get stronger or weaker with ilvls we are good at 3/4 engravings. and if you got your tripods + cards at max you are done. Support is super cheap outside of the honing.

I struggle with GERD as well, and I kept a strict diet for like 4 months but it actually made me worse than good, apart from starting to lose a lot of weight I wasn't much better either. I recommend aloe vera extract juice and really, just eat normally and avoid fried and bad fats. I eat pork, beef, salmon, chicken and it's all good. As long as it's good fats it actually helps more. Also it has lots of fibres as well and that really heals up ur gut. Also eat lots of greens as those are very high in fibres as well. Tbh just eat normally but cut on junk and fast food, or spicy. As for onion, garlic, tomatoes, as long as theyre well cooked theyre not that bad and yeah, you can try adding less of those and eat raw tomatoes not so often. So yeah just keep a normal healthy died, as long as u eat home cooked and not fried your gut will feel better. Aloe vera too. reaaaallyyy helped. Drank it for 3 months or so, currently on break from it but it did wonders . Oh and probiotics. I take those every morning. As long as u take care of ur bacteria balance in the gut, u'll feel the GERD gets so much better

Imagine you can choose as a support 1 teammate and see his dmg numbers, so when you give him full dps buff and see his biggest dmg like destroyer bonk skill, it would be crazy satisfying because you can see then how much more is he hitting with full dps buff. And General it feels like your the Manager so its your man which is fighting. Im playing 6 classes and all DPS. But if i could see as a support the dmg numbers from my grp (only 1 which i choose and can change everytime when i want) Then i would instant make a support class.

Having to learn the raids isn't a bad thing, but the more raids you add the worse it becomes so you NEED resets every 1-2 years where newer players can skip the older tier of content and move straight into the new tier. Lost Ark REALLY needs to do a new season... they NEED to learn this fact.

solo version of some raids are important for new players, imagine going fresh into kakul without knowing how to manage gauge, or running into the saws from iron maiden. if u have some experience these mechs become piece of cake

As a new player I hesitate to going into kakul in PF without one of my friend that help me playing the game, I did kakul a few time and I trained M1 to M4 but I didn't trained a lot iron maiden because most of the time I followed my friend so I don't die because I don't know the path so this change is very well welcome.

Saint, thanks for a great chat. Really appreciate your insight and agree with pretty much everything; am excited for these updates. However, I still cannot wrap my head around the idea of removing entropy, and am frankly disappointed in the decision. Here you sort of highlight my thoughts: "Normal players are not acclimated to the idea of how aggro can change and how long they actually have to do an attack in the back." Just because normal players aren't acclimated to it doesn't mean it should be removed. They should be provided with another viable option maybe, but there is a lot of interesting play in terms of knowing the boss's timings, movements, patterns, aggro changes that make hitting the ceiling of an entropy class beyond satisfying. A lot of people LOVE the "all or nothing" playstyle, why are they removing it instead of providing an alternative? There's skill aspects from the entire party as well such as taunting, positioning in front of the boss to catch aggro for the back attackers, DR'ing strategically in back or front that just become much much less important without the all or nothing playstyle, and in turn just does away with a huge piece of interesting gameplay. I would go as far as saying entropy is the single most interesting gear set in the game. I cannot get behind this change :/

I would argue that the gem systems needs a revamp. Yes the super mokoko gives level 7s but that's for 1 character. The main problem I have with gems is I will never get full lvl 10s on the main character without having to save every bit of gold I have(from 6 characters worth of gold a week) for an entire year to buy them or around 5-8 years depending how many characters are chaos you do to get them on a main character

I play Predator Slayer with Hallucination and Adrenaline instead of Ambush Master and frankly, I don't feel like I'm losing any MVP screens I wasn't getting before. I don't lose my mind either constantly chasing tail. I can focus on what Predator feels like it's meant to do, which is greed damage uptime. It's a very small loss of damage when you add up all the time I don't waste running around the boss and how low my identity downtime is.

I can't speak for why the mass majority left, but me and all my friends/guildmates left around Brel HM because of honing rates, having tap the same fuckin shit 40 times to see 1.6 iLvl increase (at most), and how long it takes for us to be able to start enjoying a new character. I don't think any veteran who has a sour taste in their mouth from Lost Ark would come back unless the honing/RnG/Gamba/Gatcha system is completely reworked. I love Gold River for attempting all of this, but it feels like too little too late.

I love everything he proposed, ESPECIALLY , the solo content, because that doesn't limited to legion raid only, but can also apply to abyss dungeon, or abyssal raid, which, basically cards run in a lot of people eyes. Even Clown and below already become card run to a lot of people, so this solo content need to be implementing Asap. It's also not contradict with the engraving rework and entropy removal AND it help tremendously for new players, which, Is more important than the entropy rework. I know they're going the right direction but they need to get the order right, cause not alot of people are willing to wait a year for it to be better, especially the new players when they have not attached to the game, if they get the order right, maybe they can salvage some players. See BDO, they have put out constant good changes after good changes, and after years they have become better, for sure, but their number is still kinda lower than expected, that is the result of people having to wait too long for those changes, well, they don't wait. The earlier they get the most important one down the better, try to keep the player first before even thinking of making some higher change like entropy

talking about that satisfaction for supports ... for example artist, they could make it so that sun well glows yellow on it's normal form and the more dps is done on this singular buff the circle on the ground turns into other colours such as darker yellow into orange into red into white for example ... or for sunsketch that is for the artists eyes the colour of their supported players by this skill could glimmer in a little yellow colour which also turns darker and more red the more dps they do while this buff is applied to them @saintone

Tien is fine the way he is, the only problem is him having around 35% more hp than any other boss in the dungeon. And him only having 1 major mech makes it just tedious having him jump around 24/7 for longer than needed.

As someone with 5 characters around 1460, only recently pushed one character to 1490, the fate amber change is clearly a nerf. In 2 weeks I only droped 1 fate amber with 1500 gold... once I got card xp, but most of the time ambers are a ridiculously low amount of mats or pointless silver. With this you add the Valtan and Vykas gold nerf and it becomes attrocious. I saw my main gold income almost cut in half because of it. I'm truely glad I bought my last Grudge book before this update, and I can only sympathize with new players for who it will be an insuffurable nightmare to buy decent accessories for a 5x3 and pay their grudge taxe...

I personally don't mind the Brelshaza changes. But you do make a good point. A brelshaza raid w/o Brel? That seems kind of off to me. Not sure why they didn't just make Brel gates 3,4,6. Instead of 1,3,4 with the occasional 6th gate. Seems weird but who knows what they could be cooking. Still hoping they implement gate resets. Would be nice to not get jailed in Kayangel hard mode due to a dc that occured or someone having to go

Man you going on about your entropy zerker and saying how unreasonable it's combo is... made me sit here and realize that is basically exactly what I had to deal with as a GL when playing red and why I went back to blue. Also FFXIV entropy system which is used heavily by melee DPS classes amounts to at most 15% damage (realistically probably 5-10%) and as can be seen in most actual raids we have people doing double the damage of others even as hit master classes... really makes the whole entropy system seem kinda nuts.

I feel saddened by the news of entropy removal. I stopped playing april 1st and without this kind of content i'd be out of the loop. I have a FULL entropy roster and my favorite classes are ps sh and eso striker to the point of having multiple eso strikers. I sincerely hope that with the "removal" of entropy that they spend a lot of time rebalancing the classes, I personally had no problem taking mvp on sh or striker as a non meta build. However I would be very upset if I still played and the classes I had spent many months getting good at due to the challenge of playstyle in each fight just got severely changed. Cudos to the support talk as well as that is a drastic difference in lost ark.

So much stuff to comment on :) But let's just choose one. How can people like Sonavel more than Hanumatan? I so miss the monkey already... Sonavel is punishment only raid with half ot the technique forcing you to look away and wait or carefully place something elsewhere. There is zero bonuses as was the case for Hanumatan or even Caliligos. The only 'bonus' is the break and that feels more like a necessity similar to turtle than any reward. Truly only good things I can say about Sonavel: Good map, Levanos and his immortality tree was more annoying...

I don't think solo versions are the answer. New players won't learn mechanics that way. Instead, just take out the wipe mechanics and turn them into high damage taken mechanics. This way new players are still doing the mechs, but not punishing the entire raid if they mess up. They just take a lot of damage, which they can pot through, or they die. Also, making it solo content further exacerbates the feeling of it not being a true MMO.

for supports they could make it that it shows on the sup screen damage in pink, which comes from the strongest hitting abilities on your team, like spenders. Idk something like that. Tiger strikes, snipes, etc, so you can see that when you buff you see a lot higher numbers and when the numbers are smaller, you are like "damn i need to keep the uptime a little more"

I feel like supports need extra QoL to make their gameplay better and more rewarding. A few things that always comes are the shield amount and hp. When a support use their awakening a giant white bar fills up their hp bar and sometimes I just forget if they were full hp or not. A small indicator would be nice so we could save our heals or not (With %hp on the red bar or just shade of red in the group party hp bars) Indicators that their dps increased properly with icons on their head. Did you just increased their dps on 20% while you buffed him? Let us know. Did my shield saved you from a possible attack that could've killed you? Show it. Things like that would reward the player without noticing.

its a shame the west most recent update has been stained by them saying they never intended to give us lvl8 gems in the super mokoko pass and giving us 1 less lvl3 gem form the 1580 cube....seems they are not going to make any changes when it comes to them to items saying its intended! :S so we had a 15 hour patch for them to dont something that should of been spread out and then not getting it as good as the advertised :S

1,5 year into the game, 24 cards away from LoS 30 and 11 cards away from Lostwind. Haven't used my selectors yet, got about 20. Was doing occasional Card runs. Bloody hate card system in this game.

the reason why people say entropy is worst then hit master has to do with the amount of effort a good entropy has to put in just to match a hit masters damage.. your not rewarded for playing entropy well because you put in double the effort to just match hit masters damage.

Visual Feedback is something really big (besides no feeling of mmo+social activities) that bothers me in Lost Ark. In other mmos you drop gear or upgrade it to have it look awesome and feel awesome. Your gear advances towards a state that you really look endgame. Lost Ark Armors look so low effort and no where near endgame. You are having that cool glow on your weapon because thats how the gearscore + dungeon entry system works not because you droped something insane in rarity or looks. Skins also are .... bikinis... mokokos ... big wallet legendaries ... idk.

if they are not going to remove the back and front attack mechanic from the game's combat, removing entropy is not going to solve any "problem" bc you'll still have to back attack to get max performance. That's is going to create a huge balance problem bc you can't buff current entropy classes too much otherwise they will be too strong when back attacking. That is not the best solution, if you wanna make the game easier for people who suck at back attacking just remove positioning completely from the game and make the combat more boring. I think if you're good at positioning you should be rewarded for it.

The gate keeping in lost ark is unreal... has a returning player it is impossible to learn fights : raiding is the big part of lost ark Mokoko pass helps a lot, just enough to get gate keep'd ! Also how are we suppose to get good ? mokoko makes you to 1490 real quick, so you're only option to keep going is going into Brel staight away... How are suppose to get good with classes we never played starting there ? We skip clown, so we don't get lv 2 raid set effect. However the fate embers are really cool and one gardian raid is also a good change, the overall gold gain is better too. I still love progging and fighting my way through!

With 1490 you can do valtan and vykas easy, and learn the class, the raids and mechs there, u dont have to start with brel. And for brel you can find someone to do prokel Fast and easy most of the time, and g1 you can learn in 5 minutes

I dont think you're supposed to "waste" entry on both valtan and vykas and you don't really get better doing content you out gear this much.. And brel has 6 gates. But thanks for your advices

lostark dont feel like mmo because its heavily rely on difficult raids and alts in order to progress. MSQ is not also interesting that much, some horizontal and casual contents are useless. basically it is the lobby hardcore raid game.

For new players and in general, hide roster level from the game, players judge it to much and roster level is not synonymous with skill, it just means you enjoy horizontal content.

Being the most geared deadeye in NA currently, I'm honestly worried on their removal for Entropy. Here's to hoping that Smilegate doesn't drop the ball with the set change.
