I'm fairly confident that lunar surace is hit by several thousand small asteroids every hour or day and unlike Earth, Moon has no dense atmosphere to burn them up. So placing power cables on lunar surface wouldnt be the brightest of bright ideas. Placing them half a meter or so underground would mean that you need to dig the whole thing up to find where it is broken in case the power goes out

Yeah, I think this is not just a random shot of a planet. I don't think it can be a station as it has to be huge to be visible like this and at the same time have a shadow cast on it as it has now from the moon. Would be a coincidence that we are just seeing a solar eclipse, so I would also rule out the earth. So its some kind of large station or we are not on the moon at all D: Edit: Nah nvm probably earth x) looked back and the sun is from the side.

Uhm stupid question: why does the gravity go whenever the airlocks open to the moon? Have they figured out how to switch gravity on and off, but they still use ladders then?

He mentioned this in an earlier video too. Basically, it's unrealistic, but it makes the game easier to play.

I presume an in-game explanation is that inside the bases there's some kind of artificial gravity field to make it as Earth normal as possible. When going outside, it would make sense to switch this gravity field off so the astronaut can adjust to the one sixth moon gravity. Similar explanations used in sci-fi like Star Trek, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Space:1999 etc.
