My second attempt at a three corner bowl. This time I was very casual about setting up the turning, just to see if it would make any difference. I started with a rectangular piece of wood rather than square. The difference is slight, barely noticeable. Easy-peasy as they say! Compare to my previous attempt: • Tri Corner Bowl - Wood...

Hello Phil, I just want to let you know that I feel you are my teacher & inspiration. I started turning live & natural edge bowls after watching your UTube videos.. It was a little expensive getting all the necessary gear. The good news is everything I turn is free wood! It seems the uglier the wood I start with the better the bowls turnout. Thank you, for your teriffic video & especially you na rration & explanation as you proceed with each turning. I tend to give away all my bowls, My home would be full if I kept them. They seem to make the people happy that receive them. I a lways give you credit for inspiring me. I am 73, I am guessing you are about the same age. I am also single now. I have always been a wood worker but never a wood tuner. Keep healthy and keep turning. Your friend, Don.

Beautiful choice going 3 corner on the black acacia. The angled grain really makes it come alive. Nice to know the block does not have to be cube to get the good results that you did. I like the one lower point. It allows you to “see into” the bowl like with a natural edge bowl. Trust you to take what could be a basic boring turn into something more challenging and more fun! Nothing boring here!👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

What a great project. That wood is stunning. I sure hope you kept the tenon cut-off for a finial on a future project. I know I would have, but I find it hard to throw away any wood..lol

Phil, you are the master of taking what nature or good natured people give you and making beautiful things with it. You also are a wonderful teacher. You have improved my turning immeasurably. As an old therapist, it is nice to see the results of the work in such quick fashion. Thank you.
