You might even be able to set it in a pool of black dye after dying the rainbow parts. So many options! While the shirt might not have turned out how it looked in your head... it’s really cool looking!

It's cool, but I agree with the black making it feel busy...perhaps due to saturation. It could have benefitted from a longer batch time (I leave my blacks for 48 hours). Also, I find when doing rainbows, I like to incorporate a blue I haven't used in the rainbow for a background area. I think the blue calms things. I like the effect, and wonder how it would look if you simply carried the rainbow through each section, stepping them one "rung" at a time from where you drew it in. Thanks for showing this process.

Love your videos! If I were to try this with just liquid dye, would it be flipped to do the other side of the t-shirt and would I have to follow the same order of colors?
@CasualCollisions4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would likely need to dye both sides to get good penetration of the dye if you opted to use liquid dye. It would be very difficult to keep the dye contained unless you went with thickened dye.

What blanks do you use I bought 50 Gildan G500 but I don't know if they were best
@CasualCollisions4 жыл бұрын
Up until about 6 months ago I used Gildan G200 almost exclusively. But, the new silver tag version of the G200 seems to be sloppily sewn on at least 20% of the shirts I'm receiving and some of the shirts do not take dye the same as they used to. So, I'm currently trying out various brands and styles to find something else that I like. I know many people use various brand's ringspun cotton shirts because they have a much softer feel versus the G200. But, in side-by-side dyeing, they don't retain the same amount of dye as the G200 and they can't reach that super-saturated look that I like. I've heard the Gildan Softstyle are a good compromise - deep saturation possible while having ringspun feel; but, I'm not sure about the quality of the seams yet as I've only ordered a small sample. I do have a larger order of the Softstyle coming in this coming week that I'll be testing to see how well they hold up and how they look. I'm staying optimistic that they will work out well.
@jamesproffitt96414 жыл бұрын
@@CasualCollisions thank you so much yeah once I got the G500 I noticed they had little sleeve's so I think I'm going to make a few test orders of g200 and softstyle I start a little tie dye business thinking what could be easier then tie dye some shirts lol I had no idea how much work it really takes to make GOOD tie dyes I thought I could crank out 50 a day lol now I know 10 is ALOT to do in a day and I do mine outside are shop where people can watch which is a bad idea but you have been alot of help thank you so much
