A commemorative service was held on 28 July 2021 at the Royal Military College - Duntroon, recognising an Australian Army officer who died in the Malayan Emergency 60 years ago.
Lieutenant Clive William Bridge was serving with 1st Battalion, the Royal Australia Regiment (1RAR) in Malaya when he was injured in a motor vehicle accident. Tragically, he died from his injuries on 28 July 1961.
Lieutenant Bridge was a graduate of the Officer Cadet School - Portsea.
Lieutenant Bridge has been memorialised on the OCS Memorial and Tablets within Duntroon.
The service took place at the Officer Cadet School - Portsea Memorial Wall, which lists all Portsea graduates killed in service.
Four of Lieutenant Bridge’s OCS Portsea classmates and two of his 1 RAR colleagues attended the service, remembering their comrade six decades on. Department of Veterans' Affairs Secretary Liz Cosson AM CSC also attended.
