Cat 259d skidsteer detailed cleaning and removing dirt, mud from tracks

Thanks for the video. I've had a tracked skid steer rented for the past month and need to clean it up before they come get it next week. I had pretty much envisioned what cleaning it would entail but it's still helpful to see it being done.

Would be curious your thoughts on just power washing it with one of the washers that lets you put soap into the reservoir?

Nice video. I got a 2019 last month. Have you had any problems with those exposed hoses under there getting rubbed up, or hung up? Seems like a no brainer that they would cover those with at least a protective sleeve

shawn walters Yes I have had quite a couple of those hoses changed already because they just wear out so much when I’m working with dirt that has gravel or gravel rocks I am pretty sure I have changed it atleast 3 Times on each side.

shawn walters they are good machines the only thing I hate about these is all the sensors they have every other time sensors go out and they just cause the machine to go crazy and not be able to operate correctly but other than that it should be good so far I’ve changed one track motor cost me $5,000. And I go through tracks every year I’ve had the machine for three years right now I am on my third set of tracks. Tracks cost $1,600 each.

@@Grtruckingdemolitionllc how long after you had it did you have to replace that track motor? how many hours? This spring I am going to fab something up to cover those hoses. I will make a video so you can see what I did.

shawn walters it currently has 2291.5 motor on track went out probably a month ago. And please do so, i would like to see what you come up with, also so much mud/dirt/gravel get in there i have to clean it every 2 weeks or so under the cab

What soap or chemicals where used?

waste of time, I just drive mine around high speed in a creek to wash the tracks out.
