Great job Jarrod. If you could lose 5 kilograms I think it will be a huge benefit when you race on Zwift. Look at your average HR and your NP of this ride compared to some of the previous ones. You will see some huge differences in power at the same average HR. Keep it going. I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. You have great energy, are humble and will take advice from all who offer it. 👍

Nice seeing you race! I would not worry about the trainer difficulty, put it at 50% and it should be ok for most races (unless you go up the Alpe). For the a flat sprint the trainer diff do not change anything, and you have some room to increase the cadence in the sprint without spinning out. Perhaps you should try a C-category race with more participants and only C:s visible? At least that are the type of races that I have found are the most fun and strategic. Good luck!! :-)

Yep agreed! I'll try to find some busier races, it's just quite difficult due to my timezone. I'd end up having to do the races in the evening when I'm already tired! I'm very much a morning person 😂

When you are standing up sprinting don’t rest your weight on your hands on the bars. Pull into the bars and make sure all your weight is on the pedals. This engages your entire body into putting energy into the pedals instead of having your upper body wasting energy supporting your weight. You’ll put out more power. Possibly a lot more. I also try to focus on keeping my hips steady so all of my leg force is going directly into the pedals. Any lifting of your body up is wasting energy that could be put into the pedals.

How do you mean ‘pull into the bars?’, I’m trying to get my 800 watt badge and just can’t get the power down and I’m sure it’s form that’s stopping me. Do you mean the pull the bars down towards your feet?

Well done. You can see the removed riders on zwiftpower by looking at the "filtered" riders, the two ahead pf you were removed for not having their Heartrate recorded

You smashed it 💪 I just started zwift racing they my average is only like 2.4kg but cause it was a race I tried hard came 4th now they pushing me into c cat no way I’m ready this cat how do you see what cat you are ?

Cheers! 4th isn't bad, almost got the podium! If you sign up for zwfitpower it'll give you all the really detailed info about your category. Or try to sign up to a category enforced race, and if you're cat c it wont let you join the cat d races. Unfortunately moving up categories is part of the game, have to suffer through a few months of being a low level C racer. But it can still be fun, when I first moved up I just made it a game of seeing how long I can stick with the front group before they dropped me! Or if you stick to the flat races it's easier to stay with the main group by drafting and using good tactics. Thanks for watching!

You seem to be leaning back a lot during the race despite pushing decent enough power so that it’s not for a recovery or soft pedal portion, is that due to pain or something else?

I find that when I'm going hard if I sit up I can take deeper breathes, it's a bit weird but it works 🤷♂️

Cat B vs C is a world apart. If you're unfortunate enough to be around 3.2-3.4w/kg then you have to fight for middle pack at best

100% agreed, sticking with the main pack till the end will be my goal if I ever end up moving to B cat

@@JMower you'll get the upgrade before long mate. I'm back down to C for a few weeks now after catching covid again. My heart needs a rest from cat B haha
