Heartbreaking 💔…. Smokes McVey, my male cat, followed me home 2018 on Super Bowl Sunday. I went for a walk after the ball game because I ate everything that was offered on the buffet table. A beautiful 13 pound Russian blue followed me home. If I stopped he stopped if I walked he walked once I returned home I said goodbye big buddy and walked into my home only to find him on my patio. This boy was going nowhere. I’ve looked everywhere for his owner only to realize I am now owned by Smoke. ❤️😇❤️😇❤️

@@bicqtranIt must be an inborn rule for them to not attack stinging things. (My cat will occasionally leave a big dragonfly on the porch. Along with all sorts of other things, unfortunately.) I know what you mean about their killing for the fun of it, but they're not on a high enough level of consciousness to be blamed for it. They can't help themselves with string, either, even though it must be obvious even to them it isn't alive. My cat also goes crazy for the cursor on the computer screen.

I have 4 rescue cats - all of them indoor only. They have a screened catio where they can go out, sun themselves & watch the outdoors. My babies show no inclination to wanting to go outside at any time, & I'm happier knowing where they are & that they're safe. 😸

I've seen the same in cats that has been forced to be outdoors in every weather & in winter.. they are mutch more unintrested to go ouside than a cat that has always been well cared for or indoors.. It's just like they know it's no better out there!

MrBallen has a story about "The Stray Cat King", which is an amusing episode about this daft man with unusual luck. One crazy thing he did was round up all the stray cats and sell them to some island with rat infestations. Made a small fortune. Great story about this guy. This was just one thing he had dumb luck financially. Entertaining story.

@@jordan2735 and a HUGE parr is HUMANS that dont take their responsability & neuter the cats.. I've had cats my whole life, male or female. Dont mattee, they don't go outside before they are fixed.. I let rhem out bcs I live in a place where we don't have as vulnerable wildlife. No birds that live on the ground. We also lack any bigger predators, we have fox & raccoonbears, and 2-3 wolfes. Thats it.. The eagels are a bigger threat to our cats, that our cats are towards any species here.. But I would have indoor cats if there was any dager to/from them like in other places..

I support the trapping, and spaying of the feral cats, but I always maintain that cats are domestic animal that don't really belong living outside. The reason there are problems with feral cats, is because there's a problem with humans who are neglectful of their cats.

I Agree about almost Everything you said. Too many cats are lost, run aways from home, got out of home, people moved, etc!! I lost my cat after moving back home to Cali from WV, my black cat ran out our room after one of us open door!! We were only there for One day, we looked the rest of night, throughout nite into morning!! I even drove around parking lot many xs, drove around whole neighborhood more than once, walked about Whole hotel, around pancake dinner and within a mile radius of where he was lost. But to no avail .....

@@denisemezynski8014 Oh no, that is heartbreaking. I'm so, so sorry. 💚 Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. We were only moving 2 hours away and about half an hour into the drive the other cat pooped in the crate, and it smelled so bad I had to pull over and clean it up. She's a little cat, and moves like a ninja, so even though I had the opening blocked as best I could, she darted past me and ran behind an abandoned gas station. I called and called for her but she didn't make a peep. It was such an awful feeling. We have a special bond; I'm her only person and no one else can get near her. I held that in my mind the rest of the day and didn't lose hope. At nightfall I picked up some cheap, smelly canned food and drove all the way back to that spot, hoping she was still safe and that she'd be hungry and lonely enough by then to come out when she heard my voice. She was! I can't describe how relieved and happy I was when I saw her emerge from the brush. She was pretty spooked, so it took some patience and coaxing to get her to come close enough to grab, but the kitty junk food enticed her those last few feet. When we moved from the city into a 200 sq ft camper on a very remote 130 acre farm, I couldn't keep them indoors anymore. Not after seeing how utterly content and relaxed they were outside. They never went far, but I knew I needed to be able to get them back inside if there was an emergency. I started doing something that I think could be really helpful for any cat owner, should the need arise: Every time I give them their food I say in the same sing-songy voice "whooo's hungryyy," to establish the association. So now if there's a tornado watch or if I hear coyotes or smell smoke or whatever, I just call out and they come running. And I mean quick, too. It's really come in handy a few times, now. I hope this helps someone.

Technically they are hunters and hunt for preys outside. It would be wrong to categorically put them as indoor though they adapt and can stay indoor. I like to take my cats outside just running vehicles, humans (psychos) and dogs scare me.

Your exactly right my friend .I see it so many times it's disgusting .People either leave a female that's pregnant and abandon her r they adanbon the kittens .Cats r such inocent creatures and I sure won't ever hear of one attacking and killing someone ,like dogs have done r people ,but I do love dogs too but I adore cats .I've been taking care of many abandon kittens and pregnant cats and I love them all and would bring them all inside my house if I could .It's so sad that alot of people seem to think a cat on the street can just take care of themselves but not a dog .Just because cats can hunt doesn't mean it's ok to just throw them away .I wish I had a ton of money and a huge home to just take them all in buy I do whatever I possibly can and I love them all .A Ferrell cat is just a terrified one and it takes patience and love to win them over but I always do and I never scruff them r trap them ,they seem to know I don't want them to be hungry r scared anymore and that's all they want ,love and caring and comfort .Im definitely not saying that if the only way U can help them is to trap them to give them that help ,I'm so glad U r doing it ,I've just never had to .Food is the best motivator and I love sitting with them as long as I need to do that to earn their trust .

I love cats. I lived at a place where it was a Dumping Ground for cats. They became like vermin. We fixed the friendly ones which all got ran over by buy a car on the road. Only two made it out alive that were fixed. The rest were shot. They became like vermin. Couldn't tell the difference between a pile of cat poop and leaves at night. Cats are beautiful creatures. Get your animals fixed!

I wish people would keep their pet cats in their homes. Cats kept this way live longer, are healthier and pose no threat to endangered animals. There are quite a few people who hate cats. As a child I saw a trucker run over a cat on purpose. It happens more often than people think. Improperly raised kids will torment them. Our cat will soon be 20. She literally picked us as a feral kitten. I was gardening and she came over and let me pet her. I called hubby who at that point did nit care for cats and told him he would need to take her to the no kill shelter. Too make a long story short, he is her majesty’s person and I’m the tolerated third wheel, lol. She is an inside cat who will once in a while go out on the front stoop, take one look, turn around, puff her tail and March back inside. In the nearly two decades we’ve lived in our neighborhood I’ve watched so many cats die early in our neighborhood because they were allowed to roam. Many were intact males…it’s very sad. We also live in a fly over for many beautiful bird species…it’s nit a good mix.

Hey cat lovers ...what does everyone think of this idea!! ??.Lets.get a group of us together who really really want to make a HUGE difference in the lives of feral cats of America.. So I'm thinking it would take us a year of organizing, gathering donations, gathering equipment, and really the hardest part I believe will be finding clinics or vets who will do spays neuters and really important some shots and possibly deworming..anything medically that can be done for these guys to improve their lives! And we gather up some "seasoned" and very knowledgeable community cat TNR ers!! Some of those.ladies on this documentary looked like pros!! We get the best and most efficient. We tell them its volunteer but will take care of ur hotels and food when we start traveling to every state, and help anyone who officially signed up for help and was approved. After watching that group in California offer public service free spay and neuter..I was thinking geez I super need that here in AZ..and not to be selfish.. I thought I bet so many others are thinking the same!!! Idk its an idea and I personally would donate all my time organizing this and doing whatever!! Let me know.. Maybe something like this already exists.. I just haven't heard about it! Cause I would want to make sure every American who is aware of a cat colony who needs our help knows they will now have a once in a lifetime chance!! And then we spend a year or 2 or 3 idk going to every state, every town every cat community desperate for our help!!if I really participated in something like that really helped tons and tons of cats improve their quality of life.. I would be at complete peace when it is finally my turn to cross that bridge

I live in Switzerland and here also you have to microchip your cats by law, if you take your cat to the vet and the vet finds out is not microchipped they will report you and you’ll have to pay a $500 fine. I have two cats one doesn’t hunt at all while the other one bring animals everyday, rats, birds, pigeons, lizards giant grasshoppers, dragonflies I mean everyday I have two to three of these animals at home. I really didn’t know what to do, he recently got run over by a mofo car. I am so sad he died he was the sweetest cat ever even while being a little killing machine, the only pro is that the dead animals finally stopped, the remaining cat doesn’t have interest in hunting. So the notion that cared for cats don’t hunt is bullshit, my cats have one of those plebe dispensers that’s always full to the rim, and a water fountain, I feed them wet food 2 to 3 times a day, they are skinny as hell and one of them still hunted every day 🤷🏽‍♀️, it’s their nature he never eat his prays tho.

I think a lot of this has to do with the misogynistic crazy cat lady stereotype. Think of how many more women would be wanting to adopt cats if it weren't for that stereotype. It's interesting because so many men and countries like turkey and even the United Kingdom proudly own cats and love them more than dogs yet and the United States we are conditioned to think that dogs are man's best friend and man's animal but this is not the case and a lot of other countries including some Asian countries too like Korea.

There is a lot of research that is required towards stray animal reproduction. I noticed that in places where food resource is less; cats, dogs, foxes give birth to more babies than in regions where there are less. The only reason I can identify is that at least 2 babies of the 8 at a time is likely to live to adulthood whereas; if a cat gives birth to just two or three- all are less likely to survive. Also; it is a necessity for all animals to reproduce and not a choice. The licensing and microchip process is a good practice.

Most places don't have a free spay or neuter clinic. If they do you have to be on government benefits in order to qualify. The cheapest I've seen a surgery cost is $50. That's a lot for some families.

I have been saying for decades that cats need to be brought up to dogs. Require license and vaccines just like dogs AND in the U.K. you MUST have your cats and dogs micro chipped. They have ONE chip system unlike here. Its the same in Australia and most other countries. If you dump a cat you WILL get caught unless your cat has kittens and you never take the cat OR the kittens to the vet people STILL dump them.

Pedigree cat is a terrible terrible terrible idea that need to die asap. Adopt. Don't buy a pedigree cat or dog. The only exception is getting a pedigree dog for doing specific type of work the dog is bred for. Trap, neuter, return could work in theory, but if you miss a few breeding pair, or owners allowing their unneutered cats to roam and breed, and you are back at square one.

I really need some help here with a decent sized cat colony here at my apartment complex!!! I am the only one I feel feeding these cats and keeping them fresh on water all day! I have even turned my back patio into a cat maternal ward and provide blankets kitten food cat food water ..But I don't have a car at the moment and I can't spend the money to get them all fixed! Even the low cost place is anywhere from 50-100$ per cat! I live in Tempe Arizona. I've been asking around but everyone refers me to someone else who then refers me to another and NO ONE HAS HELPED ME!!

The ignorance of the population about cats and the poverty of people and the fact that the majority of rental units do not allow pets is the root, along with the high costs of veterinarians and the lack of help from local humane shelters is the second. People need to be educated before owning a pet and no one should own a pet that is not spayed or neutered if they are living under a certain amount of income.

My cat goes in and out he comes in to eat nap then back out then back in for the final time of the night but he is fixed and has a good floof coat for the cold. He has a cat friend with extra toes that comes around. I agree that that colony that’s on the edge of the Bog ought to be relocated

Dude if those are "your" cats take them home with you. Don't let them kill all the birds! Don't get me wrong I love cats. But cats belong in the home or on the farm or back in their original habitat. If you think watching a cat with a bullet to the stomach is bad think how bad it was when a freinds cat pulled my baby polish chick from underneath my door and I had to clean her wounds and super glue her head and crop back together and then watch her die of infection 6 days later. The bacteria cats have because they are obligate carnivores and it is proven small animals and birds that manage to escape immediate death from cat more often than not die of infection later.
