I have a 2006 CAT C15 twin turbo engine and I've always been skeptical about the twin turbos but I must say I've been extremely happy with this engine. I've replace a oil pressure sensor on it once and had to put a new pulley on the idler pulley and that's been it. Good engine overall

Just a tip, and lots of drivers dont think about it, your running twins and they are very close together. I've been told by an owner OP driving an Pete 379 that it puts out way too much heat and the engine gets really hot. Sometimes overheats. If you can find turbo blankets that will fit the exaust turbines for both turbos, and get exaust wrap to wrap the down pipe about 2 feet down from the turbo, it should keep the engine much cooler. Preferably you may want to find turbo blankets suitable for racing applications, as they are really great for keeping the heat inside the turbine and prevents all of the heat drowning the side of the engine. You can see turbos glowing red and those blankets dont catch fire, it's amazing.

Well it's not a twin when it shares the same intake and are contented, twin is two separate turbochargers. In the C15 ACERT it's a compound turbo which is a fancy word for lots of money when it breaks. It's not a bad thing but it gets complicated to work on. I rather have a Caterpillar or Detroit per 2007 EPA over any 2007/2010 EPA standards. My fire department still runs a C12 and 3208 and still 90% less issues than any new 2010 on motor. My trucking company has more 2010 and newer trucks in the shop more than the road. Gliders are a great way to bring back what works. Now the EPA is ending gliders in 2021

If 1 turbo starts leaking oil, boost creeps, or bearings start to give out. Replace both of them at the same time. I know that sounds expensive, but will save you cash and headache in the long run.

I got 2 of these engines in Kenworth W900Ls. A just bought a W900L dump truck with it not sure if it’s a 06 or a ‘07. That one’s a 550hp. A while ago I bought a 2007 W900L studio sleeper rig it’s engine is C15 Acert twin turbo 625hp. It had a lift axle when I purchased. The truck now… is completely built and transformed to the image I had in my head. I’ll do the same with the 2 W900L dump trucks I purchased for the business I started. Already making $$ hauling loads with the dump trucks and machinery and other things I can put on my 2 trailers.

sounds like to me, just turbo blow off, the fishing boats where i live do it all the time, sounds really cool, they run exhausts up to 12 inch pipes or bigger depends on the size of engine, and horse power and all the boats with the bigger turbo engines do it, hell my friends 350hp mits marine engine does it, and boy dont the coal ever roll when the hammer the throttle

@hayzeproductions70935 жыл бұрын
Can range from 800 to 1000 depending on how its programmed. Usually its factory set up is 600 to 700. 1200 torque. these engines can climb weighing 80k at lower rpms without hassle. 80k at 3% grade climb you can make it up at 500rpm.

@@jmh4ggg The engine designations with a dash are from the late 90s to about 03 engines and include the C-10, C-12, C-15, and C-16 with this C-15 being the single turbo 14.6 liter. Then, Cat dropped the dash and so the ACERT C7, C9, C11, C13, and C15 came out with the C15 being 15.2 liters and having twin turbos as did the C13 and C11.
