In general cats from the same group will groom each other and are pretty touchy, they share their scents with each other as a sign of community. But idk how they feel about us constantly washing their scent off ourselves and our territory tho :D

I have a cat colony. Were born in my garden 14yrs ago. I RESPECT each cats bounderies to being petted, picked up, kisses, belly rubs etc. One boy, Pingan, ( Chinese word for Gentle One) would come close but remained skittish. Then at 13 yrs old he turned into a LOVE BUG. Now Pingan is FIRST in line for ear scratches, belly rubs and lots of petting. Wants to be picked up? Nope. Kisses? NOPE. I love MY cats THEIR way.

Probably that and he’s also touching her whiskers which might be overstimulating/uncomfortable. Not painful, but just potentially a sensitive spot and unwanted touch. I imagine the sound is the most irritating part for her, though. Also just in general she probably wants to be released from the snuggle position, lol. Most cats hate being cradled like babies. They can’t easily escape and probably fear that you might drop them; with their backs facing the ground in this position they probably feel pretty vulnerable. I know cats are supposed to land on their feet, but that’s not always the case. If you just randomly released them from this type of position they’d have a hard time manoeuvring their body to a better landing position in the time it takes for gravity to take effect. Just imagining if they didn’t manage to get their feet facing the floor and it was instead their spine making contact with the ground; major OUCH!!! No wonder kitties hate it so much!! There are definitely better ways to hold a cat and have them hate it way less. If you work with your cat to slowly gain their trust when you handle them they can eventually learn that the baby cradle can be a tolerable thing. I don’t think any cat has ever actively enjoyed being held like this, lol. Well, maybe if they were already in a super smoochy mood. But even then they’d probably prefer to be held in a different way (or not at all - depends on their personality haha). For example, in a position like when you “burp” a baby (ie hold them against your chest and pat their back). Cats are more equipped for a quick escape in that kind of position. Plus, they can rub their face up against your neck and you can stroke their back comfortably. It’s also good to make sure your cats feet are supported with your hands; that helps them feel more secure, too. Ok, lecture about holding cats over! Just for any random people reading I think it’s important for people to know why cats generally do not like being held like this, lol. Like I said, you can eventually train them to tolerate it, but yeah. You can even get them to accept smooches and some lovin’… but they do not tend to tolerate being held like this for a very long time. Typically they quickly get fed up with it and want to be put back down on the ground. With more secure ways of holding them they tolerate being held for much longer timeframes, in my experience. Because they know they can escape on THEIR terms. With the baby cradle they are pretty much stuck until you choose to release them. Which sucks, for the cat.

But I do know of people who do this just for good hygiene practices. If you look at the channel: "Rachel & Jun's Adventures!", they have 4 cats that have their teeth brushed.

She can dislike it without being mean. I have two cats one hisses every time she gets picked up. The other one doesn’t like it either but doesn’t do anything cause he’s gentle. He makes it clear by a little meow or just looks at me like bruh you know i hate this shit. Cats have different personalities too. I have a very old cat who hated kisses like this but after 17 years he loves it. When cats are younger often they're feisty and independent. As they get older they feel more vulnerable and their relationship with you grows. Older cats who were once fierce and independent will settle down and love company and affection.

@@grimslepers It was 4 years ago when my old rescue who I've had since he was a kitten got tumors on his intestines. The tumors inflamed and he wasn't eating. He lost over half him body weight and wouldn't even eat tuna from the can. The vets told me to put him down. I didn't. I went to another vet, got several different medications, monitored his progress, studied about his medicine and conditions, and slowly reduced the medicine until he could live without it. Now he's 17, feisty, loving, and very loud about everything. The experts are not always right.

I almost always hear that severe weight loss is the end since they just refuse to eat. Did he require chemotherapy or surgical removals? This is really a miracle story and a reminder to seek more than one doctor's opinion as one may just know something lifesaving.

@@grimslepers One vet said, "he's lost too much weight, and at his age they rarely recover". He was only 13 years old. The other vet was at least scientific saying, "we don't know if the tumors are benign" and cautioned that the medicine has "long term effects." The real difference is one doctor didn't even want to try. After years of monitoring his health the intestinal tumors are not much of an issue. I might give my old pal Felix medicine a few times every couple months when his intestines flare up so the side effects of his medication are not even an issue anymore. I know what to look for in his mood if his belly is upset. P.S. he's at my feet right now.
