There is a mistake in the scoring rules at 8:42 - you said about "3 tricks or less" but according to the rulebook, the bonus is given to the player(s) that end up with 4 tricks or less. But nice review anyway, as always.

Amazing catch, Rafal! I'll pin this comment so people can see. Thanks so much!!! 😁🙌

My understanding is that for 2 players, the 'standard' preparation phase is replaced by the rules on page 10 of the rule book, meaning that players do not discard 1 card each.

I really appreciate you taking the time to do a review of this version and putting your own spin to the review.

Cheers Checkm_8!! I'm always nervous of being derivative of other videos/board game people, so I hope the 2 player viewpoint helps!! Thanks a ton for the kind words and for watching!! 😁🙌

Good point, Taylor, about the teaching element being easier without bidding in 2-players. How I teach it to a group of 3-5 is suggest them to prioritise over a few warm-up games: first priority is ‘don’t cause a paradox’; once you get that then focus on that first priority and ‘hitting your bid’; third priority once the previous priorities can be achieved is ‘improving bonus values on the research board’. I’ve seen new players focus on gaining on the research board and they paradox badly.

That's a super smart flow, John!! That priority system is clever to really focus things, especially in this looser/wild game. That order is perfect too; causing a paradox is just the worst haha! Cheers on the system and points!! 😁🙌

I’m two minutes into watching my very first Trick-Taking Games with Taylor video and I am loving the absolutely chaotic energy! What are we even talking about here? 🤣

Hahahaaaa I barely know!! It's a wild ride, Dave! I may have oversold my quality, but at least there's a method to the madness!

@@ClaudeAndTaylor Dude, I love it! You have such a unique and personal and quirky approach and I totally understand why you have such a committed following! Keep up the great work, man-hope we get to hang out again soon! ☺

Thanks for the update! I just heard that retail copies were heavily allocated, so my pre-order will likely be delayed. I hope the cats can survive 2 more months in the box!
@ClaudeAndTaylor2 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, i heard that too! Hahaa i hope so too, Jon!! Fingers and paws (?) crossed for the cats!! 2 months is long, but is Schrodinger's cat can survive (maybe?) I think those can too!

Multi verses definitely add goatees on to people. Universal law.

Thank you, Andres! I was concerned something was super off, but this helps assuage my fears!! Cheers! 😁🙌

This looks like such a cool game. I like that the Shrodinger's cat idea not only plays out in the theme of the card has no colour until we observe it hence multivers as to how it could be played, but also in that you have to be thinking in different layers of tricks, bids and board state. Seems to me that it can get quite complex! BTW. Hameln Cave got here in good shape and Google Translate has gotten a workout. Thank you.

Oh totally! Great point, Smoke! It's surprisingly thematic and definitely complex! Oh that's soooo good to hear about Hameln cave arriving! Yeahhh i tried to cover a good amount of the game with my video, but all those characters haha! Hope your plays go well!

Is the idea not to win too many tricks so you get the bonus at the end of a non paradox round.

Yep!

Was great to meet you in Las Vegas wish I wasn't in the middle of a game so could have played a round of hearts hopefully next time.

Zach!! Soooo great meeting you! I'm still so surprised it happened and I am so so down for a round of hearts next time! I'm at Pax Unplugged and BGGCON, if you're swinging any of those, hit me up! Cheers and thanks again!!

Why do me and my wife and up with two cards left at the end? Also, there's only one spot on the research board open so it would automatically cause a paradox for the follower. I've counted the cards like 400 times... 10 each player, 5 on the table, reveal 3 of the 5 on the table.
@ClaudeAndTaylor Жыл бұрын
Oh hmmm, I'm not too sure.. Maybe it's a trick number thing, like Rafal caught
@joshuacurtis3048 Жыл бұрын
This has been several months but when you deal the 10 cards you would each discard 1 card each leaving you with 9 cards each and total of 8 potential tricks (because 1 box is left over and you can’t play a 9th trick). Hope this helps!
@martynrsmith8475 Жыл бұрын
BGG Eric Martin says the bonus part comes into play if you have made 4 or less tricks. Think you said 3 or less.
@ClaudeAndTaylor Жыл бұрын
Oh yep it's 4 or less!

I'm so annoyed that the cards are so thin and crappy. But I'm happy to have another 2 player trick taking game for my collection.
@ClaudeAndTaylor2 жыл бұрын
Oh shoot, funny enough I'm super lax on card quality, but that does stink! Maybe sleeves could help? But hopefully the game is worth it! Cheers for the comment, Robb!
@martynrsmith8475 Жыл бұрын
Sorry to keep harping on about this but what happens to the bonus part if both players take 4 tricks . Assuming Eric Martin is right
@ClaudeAndTaylor Жыл бұрын
Oh no worries! I believe both players get the bonus?
