This one was a big surprise for us. Someone brings it to meetup every week now. Quick and fun. And even my family likes it -- they're not gamers, but we did play Spades a lot growing up, so they picked it up quickly.

figuring out which cards others have/don't have and forcing them into a paradox, while at the same time trying to get your tricks and placing your pieces in a mini-area control mechanic is enjoyable.

Well done. I too really like this game, and you are spot on that an instructional hand is a great idea. This game is so clever and so much fun in a great little package.

I'm not a big fan of trick-taking, the only one I own is Brian Boru, but this one kinda seems interesting, I might give it a try.

I think this game is tons of fun. I love trick takers and I love how many twists on the genre keep coming out! Unfortunately I don’t think my play group loves trick takers quite as much as me and this seemed to fall flat for them. I think it felt too chaotic for them maybe like you mentioned about the one person you played with. I hope I get another crack at it with them though, I hope the fun nuances will come through for them.

Ya, they definitely aren't for everyone. I think you really have to love "cards"... if that makes sense.

I may be in the minority, but I didn't like this one. I'd rather play one of the many trick-taking games with a regular 52-card deck, like whist, solo whist, bridge, or some variant. I thought the idea of assigning suits at the point of playing the card was interesting and I would still like to see another game use this mechanic, but I felt the scoring was based very much on luck and didn't reward people for playing what they are dealt well, as much as rewarding them for getting good cards to start with. I also felt the theme was completely lost in the gameplay. I think there are some who will buy the game just because of the cats and be disappointed. Having said that, my opinions are based on a single 5-player game, so they could be revised with further plays.
