Major suggestion from me. I would love to be passing my knowledge and skills on to another person. Unfortunately those that have the mental-want to learn and do what I do, have to pay a god-damn fuckin' fortune to have a bunch of non-industry idiots to teach them a lot of impractical crap. I easily recall a time many years ago (maybe decades now) having two new educated technicians work with me. I am not kidding when I say that these two did not know how to use a speed handle wrench. Yet, their tech-education bill had to be paid. What effin good is the education in programming a PLC when one cannot figure out that the problem is a motor starter or an overload outside of the PLC's understanding other than to control. My suggestion is for each industry to take over their education, else you will always continue to suffer a shortage. A grumpy old man like me, uncredentialed as us old farts are, are the best educators; No scholastic will ever outsmart an infield worker.
