Hello. Thanks for this tutorial. I was able to make it work for the horizontal interlace direction. But when I change it to vertical, I can save the file but then it it gives me an error and then prints out a white sheet without any picture. Is that normal? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Tzhako. There are a lot of variables with SuperFlip and there have been a lot of Windows software changes as well. The owner of SuperFlip gave us permission to give the software away for free to our customers. But sadly, Thomas passed away years ago and there will be no more updates to the software. There are a lot of things we could test, but while this was not normal years ago, it might be easier to find work arounds. In your case you said the software worked interlacing the images horizontally. I would rotate your graphics 90 degrees and still interlace horizontally. Hope this helps. By the way, even with the quirks, SuperFlip is still one the best lenticular interlacing available. Especially, its Free!

Does your 60lpi work for animation?
@jaygresham826
@jaygresham826 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joshua, Yes, a lenticular secret is that all lenticular plastic will do all lenticular effects with differences in quality depending on the manufactures lenticular plastic setup and your software and your print equipment. With that said, yes, with a newer (less than 5 years old) Canon, HP, or Epson printer you should be able to make a basic animation. Tip, Do not use separators with animation, you want the ghosting between images!

Could I use 3 images for this flip lenticular?
@jaygresham826
@jaygresham826 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Iqbal, Yes you can interlace 3 images. When using an inkjet printer 40 LPI or lower (30, 20, 15 or 10) works best when trying to create a 3 image flip.

What lenticular type do you use? 40 lpi or 60 lpi? Thanks
@jaygresham826
@jaygresham826 4 жыл бұрын
For Flip we use 40 LPI in our Cat and Mouse Training Project. The 40 LPI is the easiest to use. Some more experienced customers do use 60 LPI after training. 60 LPI usually works best if you are using the same or similar backgrounds where only the person changes. Example customer Kissing changing to Hugging.

@@jaygresham826 okey thank you so much, I have a question, in your video, you use the lpi setting at 39.9 lpi, so the lenticular lens you use is 40 lpi too, what if I put 60 lpi in my super flip settings, do I have to use 60 lpi lenticular lens too? Whether the number (lpi) settings in the super fllip must be the same as the lenticular lens (lpi) used? Thank you
@jaygresham826
@jaygresham826 4 жыл бұрын
@@edodono So, you have a 60 LPI lenticular lens, correct? Okay, reading your note, maybe not. I have heard of people doubling up, using 40 if they have a 20 LPI, or 30 if they are using a 15 LPI, I'm not sure I would or would understand the reason for it. So yes, if I understand you correctly, if you are working with a 40 LPI lenticular lens you would use a number in the range for that lenticular lens. Most manufactures will provide a starting number, you show 39.9 which is the number we provide to customers using an inkjet printer. If you are using a dye sub that number might be 39.85. The actual LPI number you enter into the software is different depending on a few things. The software, the printer, the paper printed on, the viewing distance. The 39.9 above is what we suggest to start if you are using a 4x6 printed on a Canon or HP printer. If you were making an 8x10 that number would change because your viewing distance is generally farther away. Again, not to get to complicated. Start with a smaller hand held piece, our 40 LPI if you have it. Use a Canon or HP printer, and use 39.9 as the actual number. If you have a different manufacture 40 LPI, you can try 39.9, but I am not sure if it will work.

What's the difference 40,50,60 and 75 lpi?
@jaygresham826
@jaygresham826 4 жыл бұрын
@@edodono The numbers are the number of lenticules (lines or grooves) per inch. The higher the number the smoother transition or change. Also the number depends on the manufacture. Our 40 LPI is for Flip but there is another manufacture that has a 40 LPI for 3D. There are different 60 LPIs as well. The big secret is that "all" lenticular lens will do some degree of "all" types of lenticular. Some are better for Flip, for Animation, for Morph, and for 3D. A lot of time goes into the design of lenticular lens. If you can image a lot of factors go into the design. A few might be what effect is wanted, Flip or 3D or maybe both, what printer is going to be used. The lenticular materials we use were designed to be printed direct to the plastic using UV lithographic printers. There are thickness and math manufacturetheirbecause of the math. Sometimes the math divides correctly for the litho press but not on an inkjet or dye sub printer. Honestly you can spend years trying to figure it all out or you can find a person or company willing to share or help you. Our Cat and Mouse video is an example of how we help our customers learn the basics of lenticular. Years ago inkjet printers were the problem but newer Canon, HP, and Epson printers made in the last 5 years usually work first try. We use 40 LPI in our training project because it is easier and it works. The purpose of the cat and mouse project is to test your equipment and to see if you can follow the process exactly. After completing the cat and mouse project our customers can experiment with their images or try other things. Hope this helps
