Sure. A panther is a melanin variation of a leopard. They can be born together to the same mother. In brilliant sunlight, you can see a deep leopard spotting under the black on a panther, a gorgeous sight.

We never saw them go into the water by themselves. We only saw them swimming to get out of the water. The owners kept placing them in water. The cats may not mind, but they don't love the water and are not interested in going in there.

My wife let in a small all black kitten 40+ years ago. He grew up loving to play in water. We named him Boo as he loved jumping out to attack and then run away for you to chase him. You have two beautiful black cats & I hope you have them for a very long time to enjoy. Shalom

My black cat Fernando amazes even the vets . After being run over by a car his tail and hind leg got broken. Even after being in pain he never bit or scratched anyone or got angry . The gentlest cat that has ever existed I’m sure . . I love him to bit and I’m do glad he didn’t perish .

They're reducing the amount of any water that gets into their ears. Cats have enviable ears, between being able to seal their ears, aim them, and position them farther away from attack.

Our family had a cat that loved water! We had a cabin on the river. The cat went into a cat carrier for the boat ride to the cabin. People asked, "Is the cat THAT afraid of water?" Ans: "No, it is the only way we can keep her in the boat!" When we motored into the dock about 30 feet out we'd open the carrier and she would dash right to the front of the boat and take a flying leap into the water. When we were in swimming she would cry on dock. We would pick her up paws down and toss her out over the water. Her tail spun like a propeller. She would swim for a bit and get back on the dock so we could do it again!,

Panthers like water and often spend a lot of time in it. They are strong swimmers and enjoy hunting, playing, and cooling off in the water. Panthers prefer habitats that include flooded forests, swampy wetlands, rivers, and streams.

My god, how beautiful they are! Little wild things, their movement is so graceful and has such an easy power in it. A number of bigger cats, especially tigers, love to swim. I guess their love and trust is so great they'll do whatever their human will do.

I had a female cat named Nathan! I was told she was a boy, and before I could verify it, on the drive home I found singing calmed her down, and I sang "Good Old Reliable Nathan" from Guys and Dolls, and that stuck. She didn't like water, but she was an amazing cat, lived to be 20 years old!

We have a cat named Henry, thought as a feral kitten he was a boy. He got very sick and a trip to the vet revealed he was a she. Henry is still Henry. If people ask, we just say she is trans. Hey, it’s 2024 and Henry doesn’t care one way or the other.

Any problems with their fur or skin with regards to the salt water? Do they get a fresh water rinse after each swim? Cool cats! Mini panthers. We've had 7 black cats. All feral captures. They seem to know they have been given a good life. They say the black cat is the hardest to get adopted out. We never had any problems. We just kept them!

We recently had to say goodbye to our cat , she was a feral when she was a kitten and during a Blizzard she was at my dad's door and he already had a Wolf as a pet and didn't know how they would be together , but he couldn't leave her out there . The Wolf and the Cat got along well and they all lived together for about 11 years , then the Wolf passed and shortly after my dad did also . I was the only other person who she would allow near her so i took her home . She lived about 22 years and now I miss her but I am in no shape to get another animal so I love watching videos of them , thanks .

This reminds me of my 2 Bengal cats that was 2 and 3 years old when I got them from a cat breeder, until then they had been living most of their life locked inside house or outside in cat cage. I live on the countryside and the first time I took them over the small mountain ridge 200m from my house they was overwhelmed by how big the world was, behind the mountain ridge there was wide open fields and more mountain ridges in the distance.... The male cat did hide between my feet and just stood there watching the view and the female cat behaved similarly. Then came winter and we did not go on any longer walks. But next year I took them to a small forrest with bushes and small trees 1km from where I live and they went crazy with tree climbing :) We had many long walks like that for 12 years and now the walks is with the female cat and her son that suddenly moved back in the house 1 year ago after his dad died (he came to our house and refused to leave 6 months after his dad died, and we let him in the house after he was living under our porch for a whole week). His mom pretty much refused to go outside anymore after her boyfriend died, but when her son moved in she started going out on long walks again outside like normal :)

I used to have two female kittens, sisters, who enjoyed going on walks and, later, actual hikes with my husband and me. They loved riding in the car and would often ask to go riding around (jumping up on the door and pawing at the door handles). I've had other cats who traveled and others who walked on a leash but those two were truly special. I also had a pair of black cats, full brothers, who were pretty special, too. Black cats are cool.

I am glad that your cats have such good cat parents. They look a lot like "Bombay" cats, who may have a hidden "Turkish Van" gene in them somewhere (as Turkish Vans are supposed to like to swim. There IS one other breed of cat that I have heard of - [NOT Bombays] who also are supposed to like to swim but I can't remember what type it is.) As a former cat parent myself with LOTS of "passed" cat kids in my time, including a number of adopted siblings, I enjoyed your video very much.

​@simonkevnorris I actually do agree with you, however, a completely black female cat my family had (along with only one black and white kitten ... almost tuxedo ... we kept from her litter) looked orange/rusty in direct sunlight from a certain angle. Also the black and white kitten's black fur had the same properties. So 'technically' you could say black and orange ... 😊🐈‍⬛🐅 But yes, it should be black or orange, unless you're describing a tiger 🐅.

Also if they have a tabby gene. Just saw a video of that. My cat is only black - ish. So, he's probably part tabby or something. Looks black but also brown..so dark he looks black. He's an indoor cat.
