I love all animals, even though I've owned dogs all my life. I would love to own a cat someday to give them a loving home just like I gave my rescues a loving home. ( btw, my family didn't want cats because they shed. ) Can we agree that they're both great because they both bring us happiness? Don't assume all dog people hate cats, I don't hate em. Both dogs and cats are great, but...... don't dogs shed too...? I don't mean this to be rude or anything remotely similar, but from what I've observed, my dog and other dogs also shed. I'm just slightly confused, is all.

but dogs shed too, and that dog person was assuming your cat is going to randomly claw you to death. If your cat clawed you that's your own fault cuz there are plenty of warning signs that your cat is unhappy before they claw you. It really bothers me that you said your family didn't want cats cuz they shed even tho most dog breeds shed too lol

@@lyd3815 I agree with you. My cat, and lots of other cats I've met and seen, had many warning signs. One of the majorly wellknown ones is when they arch their back. Biting and clawing only happen when they are actually attacking you. And it rarely gets to that point. Only when the owner is terrible or they grew up as a tough cat with a troubled past. (Much like humans)

Dogs shed too. I've had massive dogs with short hair that don't shed a ton and yet I still found their hair around the house after they passed away. You just need to find the right cat for you. My cat doesn't really like a lot of people, but she likes to play with us and she begs for treats. We were also able to train her to use the toilet.

I've never understood the whole "cats are assholes" thing. Even cats that people say are super grumpy are always friendly to me once I meet them. Cats and dogs are both great and you can't treat them like they're the same animal. While most dogs love a bunch of aggressive pets, cats like to be mostly touched on their faces. I just let cats show me where they want pets and they get super cuddly.

Idk why people compare cats to dogs so much... Dogs have had so many years of domestication (10 000 I think) and cats barely got 100... Which makes them so incomparable. Some cats are still feral and scratch because they see humans as any other threat. But if you give them time and affection, they act just like dogs. Cats are just less energetic and easier to care for. Also, dogs can be mean too... I got bit by a dog when I was a child and had to go to a hospital, but getting bit by a cat isn't even close to that pain.
