To me... this video is about losing someone (to drugs, to religion, to whatever) and even if they are right there physically, there's nothing you can do to keep them from disappearing completely. Reminds me of the books Scanner Darkly and Norwegian Wood and many others.

I listen to music while I sleep and take a medication where if I don't take it I have insomnia and bizarre dreams all night.
