How long charge? It will only run for 2.5 hours on a full charge? How many R1700xe's will I need for a single 8-hour shift?

About 30min to charge using a single MEC500 charger, and 18min with two. They can get over 4hr run time depending on how hard it is worked.

Hi CL75! The R1700 XE is using On-Board Fast Charging. The Charge Time (0-100%) is less than 20 minutes with two Cat MEC500 mobile equipment chargers in parallel and less than 30 minutes with one MEC500. - Dani

how hard is it to fight a battery fire on that ? I see EV's catch fire alot and are hard to put out.

There are 25 car fires per 100k EV sales compared with 1530 fires per 100k ICE vehicles sold. Considering they also mention there being inbuilt fire suppression systems, it seems like there’s very little to worry about compared with even a diesel powered vehicle

@@go2yanks , underground is a totally different environment. If we cant get a fire put out fast lives are in danger. our equipment has fire supression already on diesels. underground we take risk of fire very serious.

The seat is facing sideways? I understand this is so it can be driven backwards as easily as it can forwards, but this is going to create some serious neck problems for the operator. For such an advanced machine, they couldn’t have added a seat that swivels?
