Larko lap record pole in 99. Radisich dominated all day in 99 until a late race puncture, broken spoiler & a radiator full of sand put pay to that. He almost won in 2000. 2001 Ambrose pole. Lowndes leading in the green eyed monster until a plastic bag in the radiator ruined that. The Au was quick for sure!

Fwiw I've got an awesome story about Simon Will's, GMC400 in Canberra, shirtless with him pulling beers in a crazy O'Connor pub with his AU parked outside. AND he signed a poster for my Dad which I can't repeat, and Dad has it framed in his study alongside a signed Lowndes poster. 😅

Funny how they where classed as been ugly cars. But my word have they aged well, look amazing. Ford Australia definitely had a very special eye for detail and engineering a extremely reliable vehicle , miss those days!

The co-driver John Bowe touched up after the 2001 Bathurst 1000 was Kiwi driver Simon Wills. Briggs Motor Sport sacked Bowe over the incident and replaced him with Wills for the next season. Theres a good reason why Dick Johnson wouldnt piss on JB if he was on fire, the guy has an ego bigger than Brock ever had.

Ray, sorry to be the bearer of bad news - that certainly isn't the case! Don't confuse your opinion with the facts. I hosted an event a few weeks back with Dick and JB, you couldn't be further from the truth. Both have a special place in Australian Motorsport ... unlike many who's only claim is on a keyboard!

The demise of Bowes 2001 Bathurst race started when Bowe missed their pit bay costing them the lead. Still, a bit of a slap in the face to be sacked because of Simon Wills.

These falcons to me are the Epitome of a supercar. Low. Smooth looking but not overly modern, painted five point rims, durable and blisteringly fast.

CAT600 was a new engine (yes Diesel) being sold/marketed at the time by Caterpillar (US) and locally by Westrac. JB's car/race number was promoting the new engine! Hope that helps ...

Please, it's important to understand the facts buddy - too easy to blast away on the keyboard requires no skill/talent. Firstly, if you've had any connection to/with JB you'd see you've embarrassed yourself - he is anything but, as to toddling around. Given the car is privately owned JB is being respectful ... an interesting concept - try it, respect that is! Buy is buddy and you can drive it as hard as your ability will allow??
