About Hawk pads: I use the 5.0’s for autocross and daily driving. They’re fantastic, BUT I do NOT recommend the HPS pads. Now about the 5.0’s: I’ve overheated them a couple times at tail of the dragon to the point they were bellowing smoke yet they never faded! for those people not familiar with Ford Falcons: they were the family saloon body on a Ford Mustang chassis. they were deeply unpopular in the US but went mental in Australia, i suspect because of the chunky boxy shape and the extra room you get with a saloon. consequently you get 5.0 Litre 80s "not-fox-body" Must...Falcons and so on and they are just as awesome as Mustangs, because only the body is different, everything else is literally identical, year-for-year, model-for-model, because that saved Ford a ton of money in mass-production of components!

I think it has more to do with the gearing, 1st gear on those old supercars was so long, they used to regularly break axles or burn out clutches from a standing start, especially if they had a full tank (like Bathurst).
@DR3ADER1 Жыл бұрын
Long gears and the weight gap led to the Falcon losing 2-1. However, if a GT500 spec 350Z competed instead of the GT300 (which is impossible because those cars are technically "loaned" from the big 3 Japanese Manufacturers, and are often donated to museums after their tenure on the track ends with a few exceptions such as the 90s GT500 Supra that's rotting outside of a shop in the Japanese Midlands), the Falcon would lose 2-0.
