Making Cat's Cradle two at a time minimizes the wonky triangles, which can keep the block from being square. There are some great rulers for this technique. However, this one was a little large for the rulers :) The trick is to add 1-inch width to pieces that will eventually be the small triangles. This enables you to cut on the diagonal without losing the point or seam allowance. The pieces are cut a little larger than needed to the block can be trimmed down to size.
