Because we get paid more in Australia, plus our currency is more expensive compared to theirs. Their income is a lot different to ours because of this. They get paid what they can survive on and so do we. Things are cheaper there to us because what we can get there for $10 over there can range from 50 to $100 over here because it matches our average income rate ( to a degree), and that is where our currency exchange comes in to play. Seeing as our currency is a lot more expensive, we get more yen out of it.
