I bought a cheap radio from a roadside shack in the Saudi desert in the 1991 Gulf war. Early next morning i turned it on as the sun rose up across the desert and this song was playing. A bird landed in the wing mirror of my truck as ‘black bird has spoken’ was sung.

You are wrong Mike. That - is NOT what this song is about. This is not a pleasant, sweet sounding 'tune' with some pretty words. It very clearly, and directly, states and references GOD - as THE source of the Morning. And you can forget about 'optimism' and any goodness coming to you if do not honor and come to GOD - the one who created both YOU and the morning.

Was fortunate to meet him unexpectedly after one of his concert in Atlanta, nineteen seventy. I managed with a friend to wander backstage knowing I'd get stopped by security. The back stage door was open, facing the street, he and one of his band members were there. After my shock and in very close contact, he asked me where a good restaurant to eat was. Looking down Peachtree Rd. they had recently built what was called the Regency Hyatt that was circularly domed with the Restaurant on top. Only that told him this, is about all I can remember. Have always and to this day enjoy his music..

I heard this when I was about 16 and getting ready for work as I looked at the sun's glancing rays on the wet garden. It didn't bother me that I had to leave for work and spend all day in dark surroundings, knowing someone had captured the beautiful moment and knew how I felt about it. Now I'm old, 75, but I've not lost that belief that that is where hope and beauty still resides even if can't always partake at the table.

I simply typed the first lyric which is all I remembered into the KZbin search engine and... presto! I got the chance to see the words and I have to admit, I cried. I had a lot of loss these past 2 years...a lot of stress. This moment today made me remember, something Holy is ALWAYS happening. Thanks for reading this.
