Fully agree with you! I listen to music too, Yusuf and American country from Johnny and June Carter Cash. I wish they had converted too… our brother Yusuf is the one among muslim personn who comfort me the most in my faith! You should listen to his interview too. He speak always with a great respect toward all human beeing, muslim or not . Even before he converted to islam Al hamdolillah, his songs had always a message of peace , hope and even praised thé Lord ( Morning has broken) . I was n’est to go astray for some muslim have hurted me very Badlands. May Allah forgive and redempt them, they didn’t know what they did, that’s the way I want to believe that , to be hurt by muslim who pray read the Coran, know the Hadiths, are very praticant in their religion. But when the pain lead me to go astray and lose totally hope, God the Almighty lead me toward Yusuf to keep faith and hope. May Allah reward you of the best reward, you and few tolerant preacher who helped me. May Allah give them the reward for a personn who convert because of him. Yusuf, (Cat Steven’s at the time) You shook my hand, in the bar at The Edgewater Hotel in Seattle I think the fall of 1976. About 1:00 in the morning......My sister and I were at your concert, 3rd row.....it was WONDERFUL! We are both BIG fans.....and that was my birthday gift. My sister found a way to get us in the hotel.....by way of a kind National Geographic photographer....we eventually found you and your group at a long table in the bar......walked up to you to say how much we enjoyed the concert....you said happy birthday to me and shook my hand! I was 20 at the time......that was great!! Will ALWAYS enjoy hearing your music.....and nice to see you back!

Definitely my favourite singer/songwriter from 60's/70's, and one that managed to stay consistently kind and at peace with himself. Even through such a massive life-changing decision to switch from Christianity to Islam, this legend managed to always stay kind, peaceful and true to himself. I can't imagine how heavy the move from Christianity to Islam was, and how much he had to change his perspective on the life that he once had, but nonetheless he managed to truly accept himself no matter what happened. He used his musical talents truly to express his take on life, and they certainly fill me, and many others, with a gleeful respite from the daunting challenges of life. If only everyone on this gigantic planet had the same outlook as Yusuf; we certainly wouldn't be in the troubling situations we find ourselves in. If only Putin wondered where the children play! If only Rishi saw the Wild World that financially engulfs helpless people! If only Biden was old, and he was happy! If only Kim caught the Peace Train! I am so very drunk, and it has taken me about 40 minutes to write this one comment alone, but my god is Cat/Yusuf hitting me now, and how peaceful is his take on the world and the message he spreads so powerfully!
