2 things i would do here. 1st thing is, never back pedal. i know youre saying "yeah its bad to back pedal", but back pedaling is also going to pull many other mobs if youre in sort of tight spaces. i'd sort of set boundaries & stay withing those boundaries, and kite the mob around it. 2. open with pyro blast for a big dps burst, or EVEN frostbolt so you can slow him immediately. would be very very useful in certain tight situations.

It's basically kiting, finally mages will be able to do what hunters and locks can since Vanilla beta :P

@djswizzair I think that's the main prob form me as well. In places like the Old Stormwind Barracks, where you have a 3 level building with stairs, LOS becomes a real problem.

Besides the fact that Blizzard already wanted Fire Mages to be doing this, and this is no secret; you should also, not cast a Fireblast during a Dragon Breathe disorient. Just cast a Fireball which deals double damage and saves your Fireblast cooldown. @mclovinit8 Why would you open up with a Pyroblast when Fireball does nearly the same damage?

you can try run in circles or let the mob catch you, use frost nova and then blink behind the mob so you dont have to run miles ;p

as a lvling mage i just start with pyro, then scorch all the time, when mobs gets closer, fire blast, at lvl 67 nothing survives that

this would only be good for single target, and i think it would actually take a long time to level using this.

i recomend u start of with a frostfirebolt or a rank 1 frostbolt then they will never hit u.
