The JHS colour box seems to have a brother now. I don't like the sound. It sounds indeed like a cranked analog console even with every knob at min. And it starts even on this position with a broken clean sound where the lows gets distorted and the high stays clean. Every overdrive pedal is a better choice.

No, but it’s in the same category. They are different circuits modeled after different preamps- one a 60s radio broadcast preamp and this a 70s British recording console.
