they need to start making these fuzz effects more affordable. there’s enough of them on the market
@ithemba4 жыл бұрын
meh, thats not how pricing works. pedals like this one are expensive, because a actual guy (or gal) in the western world sat down and soldered the thing. that means labour cost for a westerner instead of cents on the dollar labour costs of a chinese gigafactory. also, because they only built a few dozen at a time, instead of literally thousands upon thousands like these chinese factories. fuzzes are pretty simple circuts though. thats literally the main reason why there are all these hundreds of shed-built "boutique" fuzzes out there: its the most easy effect to design a pcb and solder together yourself and sell for a hefty price. with a bit work and experience in fuzz circuts you could easily clone any tipical fuzz circut you like the best (say: fuzzface) and then modify it with things like the mid boost and or the blend. material cost, even with a pre-printed pcb, should be under 40 bucks in that case.
@ryanpetrak4 жыл бұрын
darillio yeah i understand the labor/boutique pricing & you get what you pay for. if i pickup a soldering iron i’ll definitely give that a shot though for sure. the only fuzz i see worth buying (for me) at the moment is the EQD erupter
@dennismoes72814 жыл бұрын
@@ithemba 40 in parts is about right. Put in an hour of labour, the cost of getting the enclosures coated and printed or coating, screenprinting, etshing them yourself and who knows how much time and parts in R&D and prototyping etc.

Honestly the best thing about clean blends on pedals is how it makes boosting and stacking so much more effective and audible. I love running my Life Pedal into a Hail Satan Deluxe.
@Polidavey484 жыл бұрын
this Giygas sounds pretty damn thick. I dig it a lot. as for me, the only pedal I use occasionally that has a blend knob is a Boss Bass Overdrive (and I do play guitar). I barely dial in any gain, since I mainly use it for the EQ section, which sounds really great as an occasional lead boost for solos. I got that idea from King Buzzo, who used to use one as an always-on pedal, before he began using his own signature pedal.

Another awesome video man. Do love having a place to come to see fuzz pedals reviewed and put through there places properly ;) lol. But I tell you what I think would make these videos even better, would be playin the pedal through an amp like your supergroup and the through your cr120, give an idea of how the pedal sounds through something expensive, then something cheaper and solid state. Plus I'd love to hear you play some of your own riffs in these demos, that would be bad ass man :)
@DoesItDoom4 жыл бұрын
Would be cool to demo through a couple different amps, just more time to put things together. I always like to use recognizable riffs, as I think it puts things into a more relatable context, but maybe I’ll try using my own at some point. Have thought about it.
@BlackClawDoom4 жыл бұрын
@@DoesItDoom just feel it would help a lot more people understand what the pedal would sound like through a "rig" closer to what they own, if that makes sense lol. And dude, I've been a fan of your channel for ages now, and could never get bored of sleep riffs played through gnarly fuzz pedals, but I'd also just love to hear your riffs man, would be cool for you to share some of them, as in the end we are all just riff junkies 😜

Would a distortion pedal ( BE -OD ) be placed before or after this in the signal chain? I’ve been looking for a way to blend an OD with fuzz to almost sound like a dual signal path. I do this with amp modeling using 2 amps, one Marshall with a boost ( for clarity ) and one Orange with a fuzz to bring the Doom! I would love to do this using one amp and 2 pedals!
@DoesItDoom4 жыл бұрын
Have you tried something like the Boss LS-2? Allows you to blend two signal paths in the manner you are describing. Can get one for about $50 used.
@ZO51504 жыл бұрын
Does It Doom? The LS-2 was the exact route I was gonna try. I was just hoping to score a cool new fuzz pedal by convincing the wife this is the most cost effective route! Because 2 pedals are always cheaper than 3 right? ;)

I make my own fuzzes. Sometimes it's easier to modify an existing housing. I had an extra ABY.. I built a P2P Szik pair and it runs on the B channel only. ABY are such a waste of components just to light up LEDs A blend pot would be really good update.
