This is one of the ballsiest pedals I've ever owned, it's really punchy too. If you are unsure about getting it, get it. One slight word of warning is that it's pretty noise when on due to the vintage style circuit so if you don't dig extemporaneous noise may it isn't for you. Catalinbread always does it right.

Sounds fantastic, Catalinbread has really been offering up some killer pedals as of late. But the graphics/art work sure don't match how killer they are on the inside. Sabbra Caddara, RAH and a couple of others are cool and thankfully the custom painted ones they were doing are history. I guess at the end of the day it could be just a plain steel box , it's what it sounds like and does that matters...but i sure hope they keep trying to address the art work like Keeley has started to do....
@TheCallen679 жыл бұрын

Hi guys of PGSD I am a beginner and wonder if you can help on this: I was running a catalinbread dirty little secret with a 9v adapter 0.5Amps. With the negative outside and positive inside. Is this correct? Or this can damage something in the circuit? The Dirty little secret is ok but have a smell of something reheated. All knobs functions well. The sound ok too. I changed to a boss psa120 adapter and still ok with the unit.

That is because u are playing an AC amp. They are the most sensitive amp when it comes to taking a dirt pedal. Good luck in finding one that sounds good, there are tons of forums on the web that talk about it,

One of the noisiest pedals I have ever purchased. No way there isn't a noise gate or RXing in post edit... If you want your tone to sound like a shop vac, this pedal is for you!
@ProGuitarShopDemos3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bob, this pedal is known to be a bit hissy but I've never ever used a noise gate in my demos. If you play loud enough and get a good strong signal to your recording gear, it rarely picks up on the microphone. Plus, that all disappears in a band mix. Andy
@808owens3 жыл бұрын
@@ProGuitarShopDemos Hi Andy! Sorry to be so negative about this pedal. My test was clean tone on a Mesa 5:25, single coil Strat/bridge position. The Katz was 12 o'clock on all but the input (that was all the way down), stand-alone, straight into my amp. I compared against my KoT (gain maxed out on 2 channels even) and my Millie Fuzz, and the hiss/added noise was significantly louder than either. I wonder if I put this in an insulated amp cabinet, crank it and mic with my ribbon, if it would record better/cleaner. I really want to love this pedal. The tone (less the hiss) is outstanding. I get it that this is based on old circuits and noise is a byproduct. Any other input or tips you have for making this good to record with would be appreciated. Thanks for your response and for all the great demos you guys do!!! Bob
@ProGuitarShopDemos3 жыл бұрын
@@808owens No problem, I find that noise always sounds worse in person than on record. Brian May's live setup is extremely noisy if you've seen his rig rundown. I do think that playing fairly loud helps, my Deluxe is always about 3-4 on the vol. You're setting is close to the 2nd example and I even have the input hotter. Best of luck!
@808owens3 жыл бұрын
