I owned both Vrod Muscle (stage 3) and Diavel Titanium at the same time. There’s very little comparison between the two in performance and feel. I liked my vrod, the slammed look, the experience overall, but the Ducati with its light weight and racelike engine was on another level. Like comparing a Ferrari to a Mustang GT.

Thank you! I rode for 20 years and simply used old car engine oil in forks in the 80's and added preload for a passenger. I was one of those riders once but once I wanted to try racing after my rugby career ended, a year of watching and listening in the paddock taught me a lot. Amazing what you can learn if you simply get a different perspective and that willingness in 1994 brought me to my present journey - saving lives through education. Yes, millions still simply ride. I hope to reach more riders and inspire them to pick up some tools and get started.

I don't think anyone was nit picking. If you're getting your suspension sorted by an expert, you'd be crazy not to take the opportunity to get it absolutely perfect. However, not returning to acknowledge the excellent work done; that's completely out of order.

When I bought my bike, the suspension jolted my 148-pound frame so bad I adjusted everything to the softest setting. Still a little stiff, but rideable. Let all the air out of the air-assist forks also. Just the oil.

On a motorcycle with no damping adjustment, you get to adjust only the hight of the coils. So , 1 to 4 is only to get higher stand, that's all . There is no adjustment on the stifness of the coils oer the dampning.

Hello. I have a 2016 xdiavel s. I see that the drive toothed belt has been moving towards the edge of the rear wheel sprocket. Could you tell me if it is a lack of belt tension? and how to make that adjustment? The bike only has 9,000 km of travel. I checked the strap and I see it in perfect condition. It is not damaged or has cracks. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.
@catalystreactionsbw

If the belt is working towards the edge of the pulley, it is trying to run straight and find the correct place. Check the front pulley location and see where the belt is located on that pulley. As for adjustment, the forums have excellent step by step instructions.

Hey Dave, I just had my suspension tuned on my 06 Cbr600rr, and ive been messing around with tire pressures (moderately aggressive street riding) and im at 33 front, 32 rear, and I can really only get both tires about 120-126 degrees. What is your preferred street tire temp? dunlop q3's. Thanks!
@catalystreactionsbw
@catalystreactionsbw 6 жыл бұрын
For the street, I will run a range of pressures from 40 rear 38 front and then go down equally in 2psi increments to see how the bike handles and what temps I get. I end up with different pressures than expected sometimes and my preferred Q3 pressure on the road is 34 front and 36 rear.

Is it possible to have too little static sag but too much rider sag at the same time?
@catalystreactionsbw
@catalystreactionsbw 6 жыл бұрын
yes - that means the spring is too soft!
@oafyvonskidmark316
@oafyvonskidmark316 6 жыл бұрын
Too much rider sag = the spring is too soft A soft spring increases rider sag A stiff spring reduces rider sag I agree that a stiffer spring reduces rider sag, this makes sense, that's how air shocks work. If you hook a trailer to your truck and your rear end sags too much you can increase the air pressure making the shock stiffer which reduces the sagging. But how does a STIFFER spring increase static sag? That makes zero sense, if so a strut will increase static sag

Relax and let the bike straighten itself out (if you haven't slid too far that it will not be possible). Max lean angle is usually pegs scraping warning you that you have about 5-10 degrees left. I had a crash budget to learn these two things when I started racing so that's how I learned and I didn't spend much either as I was very diligent.

Having somebody rush around your bike marking the shock is not acceptable, If working on people bikes you should take your time and be professional.
