Hi I was following your procedure but I can't seem to get that heat tube in the back off. On the other end of that there's a metal tube connected with a 10mm screw and bracket. That also seems stuck. How did you get those off? Then the very back nut on the exhaust manifold seems inaccessible. How did u get that one? Removal of the dip stick doesn't look too bad I think. You're right that getting the cat out of the bottom of the car is basically impossible. Any advice would be helpful

I dropped my transmission all the way down and took engine mounts off to get my cats out. On the passenger side: unbolt manifold and bottom of cat to drop it down, on the driver side: unbolt the cat completely without taking manifold off and with the tranny dropped you can just move the exhaust out of the way and drop it down. This is on a 2004 nissan pathfinder 4WD 3.5 SE

I got a little farther.i removed 5 of the 6 bolts n nuts on the exhaust manifold. The 6th at the back on the bottom is giving me trouble as the heat shield on the cat is kind of blocking me from getting a firm seat on it. I had removed as many heat shield bolts as I could but they remain pretty solid in place. I loosened the dip stick by removing the 12 mm bolt holding it to the manifold. The one hose I got off on the pipe side towards the windshield side. That connects to some kind of metal pipe that I can't figure out how to remove despite removing the bolts holding it. The far side connection seems to be deeply buried into a pipe on the manifold. I don't know if I need to man handle it or if I should mess with it at all, not wanting to break something. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
