A very hot and cold relationship with the dev deck in this video. Playing ranked Catan on Colonist. 1v1 matches are fast and fun, and I hope you enjoy them too! Thanks for watching~

I don't think you did anything objectively bad with gameplay or placement in game 2, and I think it was the rare board with massive advantage to a certain placement order. But there's an extent to which you might have been better off playing a port and road game to give yourself some kind of edge. If you'd placed your second settle somewhere further north it creates more of a predicament for the opponent. If they want in on the road mats they sacrifice a road path and complimentary OWS. If they want complimentary OWS then you have a ton of space and mats to get further down the board later.

In game 2, you just cannot leave him the 6-5-11. Take 843 left and then 6511. He can of course plow you, but you baited him there and force him to pick a spot with no sheep. He's much slower to start and if you pointed right off the second settle, you build onto a ton of sheep and the sheep port is yours. What do you think?

Game 3, he has 2-5-10 plow up to the port spot he wound up taking anyway. Misplay on his part. Gotta watch out for those sneaky plow opportunities!

9:32 And again, what is the 8-3-4 city offering you here? You need to get your road building up to take up space on the board. Your 6-2 excursion already allowed your opponent to pretty much secure the upper right half of the board. At that point you can safely resign. Your opponent outmatches you in every aspect.

5:41 Sorry, but 8-3-4 probably isn't even in the top5 of spots to pick here.

7:23 6-2 can never win you the game here. By the time you settle there, they have trippled up the 6 with extremely good city quality and you can't even city it. You are way too much focussed on the ore.
