LOVVVVEDDD my Pani R!! By far my fave bike I ve ever owned..ehh its a toss up between that and my Gen 1 Zx-10 lol. Once they are dialed in as far as all the bolt ons and tune they rip once you figure out how to ride them to their full potential. I have a vid on my page of me smashing a BMW 1000rr that was setup for rolls and a zx14 same setup by lighter riders at that! Anddd ,my bike was still on slicks and in her track setup . Needless to say I'm in the market for another lol. Keep up the Pani R content and my bank account will hate you

Do you recommend putting washers between the rotor disc and the bolts? Also what is the brand and model of that neat little stand you have to keep the wheels upright prior to fitting to the bike?
@Motomillion20 сағат бұрын
The stand is a Ducati stand. There is no washers to be put on there, the manual does not call for it, and I wouldn't recommend adding washers if they are not there from factory.

And that's why ducati choose BST as their oem suppliers. You know the quality is legit when they can pass oem requirements.

Manny love your vids, your passion for bikes speaks loads. I have a 2014 1199 R and just installed the gold Brembo rotors and noticed something odd I hope you tell me is normal. The rotors have an ever so small amount of play within the mounting points? Its mounted and torqued correctly but the actual disc has a small of movement inside of the mounting spots. Both sides. Please tell me thats normal?? 😳
@jasoncatoe584914 сағат бұрын
Is it because they are "free floating?"
@Motomillion12 сағат бұрын
Mounting point on the wheel, or mounting point of the rotor surface to the rotor carrier? If it is to the Rotor Carrier, it is normal, it is the floating characteristic. Look up our "brake upgrade guide" videos where we show the play.
@jasoncatoe584911 сағат бұрын
Yes its to the carrier. Whew! Thank you sir. Is that a huge improvement over ones that dont move at all because in traffic at stop lights I can hear that slight jangle when im rolling super slow. Is it just a package deal that comes with having free floaters?
@jasoncatoe584911 сағат бұрын
Disregard sir, watched your video and all is explained. This bike is 99% street ridden so I probably shouldnt have dumped $900 on these but I wanted that gold and didnt trust the $200 ones off amazon!! Thanks for your responses.

Just a question though why was the wheel leaking? Is it just bad quality or do the carbon wheels tend to do it over time as it gets old.

We never had the BST's leak, old, new, etc... Had a few of the ones in question with different models that had issues.

We have not had them happen to any of the BST's which we have here, nor never heard anything negative so far from any customers who have purchased BST's from us over the past years.

The single sided swingarm seems to be a problem for carbon wheels, guy i know had his(superleggera) carbon wheel crack whilst riding on track
@Motomillion23 сағат бұрын
Till to date, never seen a failure with BST wheels that was directly linked to the wheel itself. Most of them were always caused by heat caused by the rear caliper being seized or the rear brake pedal slack not being adjusted properly that drags the rear brakes.

@peytonhibdon765921 сағат бұрын
Imagine being an average joe that saves for months to make this huge purchase. Good and cheap definitely don't hang out together, but these weren't cheap. If they leak air who's to say they couldn't separate at speed. Just something to think about.
@bendavies677520 сағат бұрын
An inescapable additional weakness inherent to carbon fibre wheels is a phenomenon known as notch sensitivity. Short of CT scanning the wheels, it is tricky to predict lifespan
